Chapter 9

5:45pm

Lauren POV

   It was coming close to six and to my surpris, I was actually dressed and ready. I checked the time again. 5:46pm. Gosh, would time be any slower.

    Should I tell her? I mean it would be very honest of me to reveal my feelings towards her but today? I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready at all. I had everything planned out: we would stare at the Sun set for a while, have a small chat then I'll change the subject and tell her how I feel. GOSH! What should I do?

Camila POV

   Just as I was looking for a jumper to wear, Normani's face pops up on my phone. I put the phone to ears and say:

"Hello?" I could hear her breathing.

"Hi Camz!" she greeted. 

"Hi Norm!" I teased. 

"Very funny!" she said sarcastically and we both laughed. 'So?"

"What?" What was she "so-ing" about?

"Well, you got anything to do today?" she asked in a tone that made it seem that she suspected something.

"Yep. I'm meeting Lauren at the beach at 6."

"Oh good! She told you! Great." she said, giving a slight chuckle.

"Um... what?"

"Since you are going, I think it's time that you tell her." she said instantly. 

"What? NO!"

"Stop 'what-ting'! You are gonna do it and that's final."

"Um... I can't. I'm scared."

"Of what? She obviously likes you. She told you last month and now it's your turn to tell her." I sighed.

"But... how am I supposed to tell her?" I asked.

"Well... I don't know. I Googled when does the Sun set in Miami and it sets at 6:15 today so I guess you have enough time to make it dead romantic." I shrugged my shoulders as she continued. 'How romantic is that? A kiss under the Sunset.' she let out a giggle. 

"I'm not doing it!" I said. 

"I didn't give you a choice." she answered. 'You're gonna do it and that's it!' I stayed quiet for a while. 

   It would be good to come clean with her. It must've killed her when I told her I didn't feel the same way. 

   But I did. 

   But I can't! The group is way more important; it's my dream! I always dreamed of becoming a singer and now I could do it with four other people, my sisters. I thought liking Lauren was just childish but over the past few days it has grown to something much more than just a childish crush over your best friend - it was real love. Love can't be explained right? But my understanding of true love is when you always think of that person non stop and they're always in your head. The first thing you do when you wake up is think of them, no one else. 

   Lauren is my love. 

   But I can't risk the group. 

   I sighed. 

"I can't do it, Normani. You won't understand." 

"Then make me understand!" she yelled. 'I don't get why you would throw all that away for something that only you understand. Lauren will move on soon if you keep her waiting. It would make her give up hope of anything happening between the two of you.' I sighed.
