The Farkle and Zay event, I like to call Zarkle, took place a couple of days after mine and Rileys horrible break up. It was Zay, Farkle, and I. They wanted to go study at Topangas, like we always did.
Lucas - Actually I think I'm going to study at the library, it's much more silent than the shop.
Farkle - So it's started?
Lucas - What?
Farkle - The separation
I stay silent
Farkle - Is this how it's going to be? Zay and I hanging out with our best friends, without one of our best friends?
Lucas - It's complimented Farkle.
Farkle - it shouldn't be.
Lucas - Can we talk about this another time? We really have to study.
Farkle - Fine. Let's go to the library.
We head to the building, a couple blocks from the school. Farkle and I take our seats, Zay went to the front desk to ask for a book.
Farkle - Will you try?
Lucas - Try what?
Farkle - To work this out. For the sake of our friendships.
Lucas - I'll try Farkle.
Farkle - Hey look, I think Zay is flirting with the library dude
I look over and turn to Zay. He's doing that thing where he scratches the back of his ear when he's nervous.
Farkle - You think he'll ask for his number?
Lucas - Doubt it
Farkle - I think it's great.
Lucas - What is?
Farkle - He's finally starting to come out more.
Lucas - I thought we weren't supposed to talk about it.
Farkle - Right..
Lucas - So you think it's stupid too?
Farkle - I don't want to talk about my situation, that doesn't mean that I don't want to talk about other people's problems.
Lucas - Right
Zay sits down next to Farkle, he has a grin on his face. Farkle and I just stare at him with a smile.
Zay - I know I'm good looking, but stop starring st me
Farkle - Soooo?
Zay - What?
Farkle - Did you get his number?
Zay - You guys are acting like little pre teen girls.
Lucas - Rude. I like to think of myself as a teen girl, not pre teen.
Farkle - so did you?
Zay - Why would I get his number?
Lucas - It looked like you liked him.
Zay - He's a cool dude.
Farkle - Do you want me to ask for his number for you?
Zay - What? No. Are you insane. I don't want his number
Farkle - Are you sure? It looks like you really want to hang out with him.
Zay - I had one conversation with him Farkle. Plus, I don't even like guys.
He looks down at his notebook and begins to "do work". I stare at Farkle, and he stares back at me.
