"It's getting really late. Do you want me to take you home?" Lucas spoke. I smiled at him and nodded.
It was an uneventful walk to Esperanza's house. We walked up to the front step and when I knocked Esperanza opened the door and hugged me causing me to wince because the bruises were still fresh. "Sorry. I was just really worried about you. It's 11 pm." I just stood there silent looking down at her.
"Thanks for staying with her Lucas. Where were you guys?" She asked Lucas when I didn't respond to her.
"Huh? Oh, I ran into her on my way to my brother's house." He responded. He looked down at me with a reassuring look and then turned his attention back to her, "Well, I have to get going, as you said, it's late. I'll see you at school Jules." He smiled and then began to walk off.
I walked into the house and went to Esperanza's room. "My mom gave you the guest room. We got your belongings from your house on Sunday." She replied solidly.
I was brushing past her whilst exiting the room when she said, "And whenever you're ready to talk to me I'm here to listen."
That's when I stopped her. "Look, I tell you everything. But sometimes there are things that I just need to deal with on my own. Okay?" She nodded looking up at me.
She was taken aback a little bit by the way I responded to her but she was understanding about it. "I promise when I want to talk about it I will talk to you, but for now the best thing you could do for me is just be here. You're doing that so please just stop trying to dig at whatever is going on with me."
She nodded and I could see her eyes glaze over. She was going to cry. I opened my arms for her to cry and she started balling her eyes out. "I'm sorry. It's just that... I almost lost you three days ago and I don't know if I could've dealt with not having you in my life."
I let her cry and we eventually just went to sleep with her crying on my shoulder. When we woke up we immediately got ready for school.
My bruises are a lot less sore, the pain meds are really helping. When we got to school I saw the whole group waiting for us. They were early today. "hahaha!" Kingston always had the funniest laugh of all time. "Oh hey Julia."
"Hey King." Yup, I called him King even though he sounded like he could be a queen sometimes. Then I looked at the person who was being covered which was Holden, my ex. Don't worry it wasn't the hell hound ex. This is the one who I stayed close to.
"Hey Holden!" I opened my arms and waited for a hug. He gave no delay into my arms.
"Awe, hey Jules." He smiled. I haven't seen him hanging around our group all that often lately. He usually hangs out with the football team now. Of course he hangs out with the hell hound also.
He always kept himself in shape. He was still pretty muscular from what I can see. He was wearing a black Nike sweater with some joggers that cupped his booty. He has gentle dark brown eyes, and warm smile, fawn/beige skin, a nice jawline, buzz faded coal black hair, and he stood at 5'11.
We stayed good friends, even after the second break up. Yes, we dated twice and trust me when I say there will NOT be a third try.
Anyways, the conversations were lighthearted topics to keep in the theme of laughter. Though, we were having a hangout later tonight at Aaron's so it didn't really matter if we were having lighthearted conversations now because we'd all be in tears so...
Hangouts for us weren't doing stupid things and drinking like normal teenagers. For us, a hangout was where we got together at one of our houses (before the whole beating it was usually my house), and talking about life and sometimes even getting a little high.
