The next day my grandma wouldn't let me leave the house much. She meant it when she said " you need to rest Lizzie, I will not have you prance around and catch your death." I tried to beg and plead with her " but grandma I am fine, really I won't catch my death if I go to town." She tisked " I will hear none of that nonsense, you are to stay in this house and rest."

I tried to change her mind " but grandma, I promise I will take it easy."

She shook her head" I don't want you to get over tired, you need to stay here and nap."

I begged" but grandma..."

She shook her head and pointed " I will hear no more on this, you need to rest and that is what you are going to do."

I knew I lost this battle, I gave up. She walked out of the parlor and I trailed behind her, she grabbed her shawl and bonnet. I watched as she opened the door, and turned around" I hope you know dear that this is for your own good."

She gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked out the door, I waved goodbye to her and David. Jake and Luke were out chopping wood, you could hear the axe hitting the wood. I walked through the house to the kitchen, I peered out of the door at them. Jake had unbuttoned his shirt down the front to reveal a hard six pack of deliciousness.

I started to blush, I couldn't take my eyes off of his chest. What it would be like to run my hands over the muscles on his chest? I watched as he swung the axe to make contact with the wood. Muscles would flex with each swing he made with the axe, Luke would remove the chopped wood out of the way. I was staring away at the sight before my eyes, then as if he could feel me watching looked up.

I turned quickly from the open door and ran up to my room, I closed my door and flopped myself on the bed. What was wrong with me? Maybe grandma was right I could relapse? I felt my forehead and I didn't have a fever that I could tell. But I was burning up, but why?

Jake knew he had caught Lizzie staring at him before he looked up. She was staring at him like he was a tall drink of water. Women they were funny creatures, they always stared. He didn't mind Lizzie staring despite their age differences, there was something about her. His brother knew that he liked her, but was it just that or was it more?

He didn't have time for all of this love business. He knew one day he would marry but not now. Not til the right one came along, one that could handle living out in the country. Jake swung the axe a couple more times, he then looked at where Lizzie stood. She turned a beet red and ran from her hiding place.

Serves her right for staring. Doesn't she know that it isn't polite to stare, especially the opposite sex? Jake shook his head and grinned. She deserved to get caught, and she should be glad her grandma wasn't the one who did. He wiped his brow and continued swinging the axe.

Annie and David were almost to New Market where Megan lived. They finally stopped at her Aunts residence, Annie waited for David to help her down. She smiled" now go to the General Store and wait for me there."

David smiled" yes Mame, I will be very anxious until I see you there with Megan."

Annie smiled " don't worry, I always get what I want and Megan is what I want right now." She giggled and walked up to the door and knocked. David ran across to the General store before the door opened. Megan answered " Hello, may I ask who is calling?"

Annie smiled" Mrs.Anne Butler, I am here to see your aunt."

She curtsied" yes Mame, right this way." Annie followed her to the parlor, " my aunt will be with you in a moment." Annie took a seat on settee, as Megan turned on heel to go fetch her aunt. Annie heard a squeal of displeasure" You ungrateful girl to disturb my babies music lessons."
