A new beginning

To Town we go

I was so excited, Megan and I were heading into town today. I rushed through my morning toilette, and went to my wardrobe to pick out my dress. I searched through my newly made dresses to find one that would be perfect. I stopped on a blue dress, it was sky blue. I looked at it against me in my full length mirror. Megan came in " wow that is a beautiful dress."

I turned and smiled" well what do you think?"

Megan nodded " it brings out your eyes, and Jake is going to like it on you."

I shook my head" I don't know about that, but I love this dress."

Megan smiled" I am wearing my green one since it adds to my red hair." We both laughed, Megan went to put on her dress. I slipped my dress on and twirled around my room as the full skirt spread out in a perfect circle. I put on my kid boots, and started to brush my hair.

Grandma peered in to my room from the doorway, she smiled " you look just like your mother just now."

I smiled " really? Thank you Grandma."

She walked over and started to brush my hair for me. I smiled at her as she brushed easy strokes through my hair. She parted my hair and french braided each side. Then she tied a blue ribbon to hold it in place, and then pinned the rest up in an attractive up do. I looked and saw how some strands had escaped and framed my face.

I was staring at a beautiful woman, I was so excited that I hugged my Grandma. Megan came into my room" Lizzie you look fantastic, are you ready?" I smiled" Thanks Megan, and I am ready to go. Grandma smiled " you two girls have fun, and stay out of trouble." I smiled " what trouble can we get into?" Megan and I laughed" oh we won't ." We went downstairs and climbed into the wagon .

We stopped at the guys farm to ask if they needed anything, only David was around. He whistled" you two ladies look mighty fine, and Jake is gonna be sorry he missed this."

We both laughed" to bad."

David smiled " well since you are going into town, we could use a few supplies."

Megan smiled" we would be happy to fetch those items for you." She batted her eyes at him, and he picked up her hand. Megan smiled at him " is there anything else you fellows might need?"

I was laughing silently, Megan was definitely putting the sweetness on for David. He kissed her hand " no just be careful, make sure you two stay out of trouble." We giggled " we will." He released her hand, and took a couple of steps back. With a flip of the wrist Megan slapped the reins and we were on our adventure.

Jake came riding up on his horse" Was that Lizzie?"

David smiled" yep and she was beautiful, she will be back with my Megan when they get all of their shopping done."

Jake smiled " I can't wait to see her, wait did you say they were going into town?"

David smiled" yeah why?"

Jake shook his head " I just hope they don't run into you know who."

David's smile dropped off his face" Oh no they are in big trouble, but it is inedible."

Jake shook his head" I know but she will ruin everything I have with Lizzie."

David shook his head" well if Lizzie is in love with you like we hope, she will just ignore her."

Jake looked worried" well I hope so,she won't leave me alone at all, I get tired of her finding reasons to just show up."

David nodded " I know and is always bringing that friend with her too." Both brother's stood there as they watched the wagon driven by the two most important women in their lives drive to town. Jake looked green" I am worried that something is about to happen." David nodded " brother I think you are right, let's hope and pray that we are wrong." Both brother's headed back out to fields to continue working.
