Megan fidgeted " I don't know what to do." I smiled" and why is that?" Megan looked nervous" my aunt always yelled at me to do this and that, it is to quiet." I laughed" don't worry you won't have time to worry about that."

She looked at me " why do you say that?"

I walked to the window" Because that man down there won't leave you alone for a minute."

We both laughed, Megan smiled" I guess your right, I just don't know what to do."

I smiled " don't let my grandma hear that, she will put you to work."

Megan smiled" that is okay cause I like to keep busy."

I laughed " well you are lucky she won't let me lift a finger to do anything."

Megan smiled" well I agree, you need to rest up after having the fever as bad as you did."

I sighed " well I want to help, my mother and father raised us to earn our own way."

Megan walked over to me and placed her arm on my shoulder. I looked at her, she squeezed my arm " I know but dear your grandmother has lost her only child, she just doesn't want to loose you."

I nodded" I know, but I just want to help her,she needs us like we need her." I wiped the tear that was sliding down my cheek with the back of my hand.

Megan hugged me " We always need someone, but your grandma loves you."

I nodded " I know I hate being sick and for so long I had to be strong for Luke."

Megan smiled" your grandma knows you aren't well yet, that is why she is pushing you to rest."

I wiped another tear" I am so glad you came to live with us, I lost my best friend and sister to the fever."

Megan hugged me" I am so sorry for all of your losses, but let us help you to get fully recovered."

I smiled" I am so glad you are here, I really need a friend right now."

Megan smiled" I think we are going to be best friends, I haven't ever had any friends of my own."

I grinned " well I am happy to be your first friend ever." We laughed until we heard " wonder what is going on in there?" Luke opened the door " Oh great just what we needed another female in this house, it isn't fair I am the only man here."

We laughed harder, Luke turned on his heel" GRANDMA! WE NEED TO TALK!" We giggled harder, we were rolling around on the bed holding our stomachs. We laughed harder every time we heard Luke yell, we were breathless trying to stop.

Luke went into the kitchen " GRANDMA!" Annie turned around from the stove to eye her grandson. She shook her spoon at him" YOUNG MAN!, do not come in my kitchen yelling like your on the war path!"

Luke stopped in his tracks" but grandma I am surrounded with nothing but girls."

Annie couldn't help but laugh, she pulled him in a hug. Jake and David were carrying the last load in from the buggy. David shook his head " what has happened?"

Annie smiled" Luke here is upset because he is now living in a house full of girls."

Jake laughed" Poor Luke, I feel sorry for you."

David laughed " we could hear the two upstairs giggling,and Luke a yelling."

Jake smiled" well can you blame him? I wouldn't want to live in this house either."

Annie smacked him with her spoon" Well I guess you get no dessert."

Jake was rubbing his arm where she smacked him. " Ow that hurt, Annie you are dangerous with that spoon."
