A new beginning

Life goes on

Mary and Thomas spent a few months here with us. Annie and Mary became real close. Mary being Larissa's best friend and Annie being Larissa's mother brought them close. We found out that Thomas didn't have much longer to live, he had what the doctors called cancer. He was slowly dying, Mary had no one else having their only child die in the epidemic. Annie made her promise that when they were done with their traveling to come back her to live. Annie was one heck of a woman, she would take just about anyone in.

Most people see Annie as a canterkous old woman. But I see a strong woman who had to over come all of life's hurt, she had been through so much in her lifetime. I was just starting out with life's problems, I was almost at my wits end with taking care of the twins. After the first few days I thought I had everything down pat. Boy was I wrong, being a mother is the hardest job one can have. I fed them, changed them, bathed them, and fed them again. It was definitely a job that many have done before me, but two at the same time?

Megan was very pregant, I joked with her that she was going to have three. Jake and David being men, were betting on it being a boy or a girl. Jake hoped and prayed it was a girl. David hoped and prayed it was a boy, Megan and I would sit on the porch holding a baby laughing. They were so funny trying to do keep increasing the bets.

I looked at Megan" well, I think they are both going to be surprised when the baby comes."

Megan smiled" well I hate to tell them, they are just going to have to wait a little bit longer to find out."

We would laugh at them when they would get heated about it. Jake came up to me " baby, we want to know when you will be ready to try for that boy?"

I glared at him" well I tell you what, when you can carry the baby then we'll talk."

Megan snickered" that I would like to see."

We laughed and Jake took Emily" come on baby girl let's go play with Uncle David and Uncle Luke."

Luke came over and grabbed Emma up from Megan" don't want to leave you out, let your momma have a break."

Annie came out from the kitchen" well I am happy to see they are helping today with those babies." Megan and I looked at her , all three of us started to laugh.

After dinner was done and dishes were done, Jake and I took the girls up to bed. Jake stopped me in the hallway" I love you Lizzie, why don't you and Megan go to town tomorrow."

I looked at him" but I can't, what about the girls?" Jake smiled" David, Luke, and I will take care of them."

I smiled" are you sure, they are only 5 months old."

Jake smiled" We can handle it, besides how hard can it be."

I laughed all the way into the house" Okay if you guys think that you can."

Jake smiled" oh we can,and you won't have to worry but about having a good time."

I smiled" okay, I will have a good time."

Jake smiled" oh they will be no problem while their mommy goes and buys herself a new dress or whatever she wants to do."

I smiled" okay, okay, I will go to town and leave you with your daughters."

Jake smiled" you deserve a break, now let's go to bed I want to snuggle with my beautiful wife." He picked me up and kissed me and carried me off to bed.

I woke up to the feel of my wonderful husband snuggled into my back. I snuggled closer into him, and thought about last night in his arms. He was a patient lover, so gentle and took his time. I laid there thinking about everything that we did, I became aroused. I scooted my bottom against him. I wouldn't mind letting him take me this morning, I smiled as i rubbed my bottom against him again.

Jake slept like the dead, he woke up enough to say" baby, what are you doing?"

I giggled" what do you think? "

He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer.He started to kiss my neck, I would giggle with each kiss" that tickles."

Jake smiled" well I guess I need to tickle you everywhere.

" I giggled" oh please, I want you to tickle me."

He placed kisses on my neck and started to work his way down, I would suck in my breath as he placed each kiss. We were really getting it on when the babies started to cry. Jake groaned" maybe they will give us a few minutes.."

They decided to get louder, I groaned" nope, they want up, changed, and fed."

I rolled out from underneath him disappointed, Jake landed in the pillow face first. He groaned" I can't wait till they are older."

I giggled" well you get to watch them today, who knows what I might come back with."

Jake grinned" I can't wait to see what you come back with."

I giggled" come on daddy, your daughters are ready to begin their day with their daddy."

He groaned as he climbed out of bed and followed me to the nursery.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I was happy that I got my figure back. Most women didn't get that lucky, especially after twins. I pulled my hair up in a fashionable twist bun. I pinned it in place and looked at how I looked good, considering being a new mom. It helped when Annie would come and help with the babies. I could get a good nap in when they kept me up all night long.

Megan was due any day now, she was excited. She wanted a daughter, but David wanted a son first. I smiled at the thought of giving Jake a son, sometime in the future. Right now we had our hands full with the twins, I gave myself the once over and place my hat on my head and tied the ribbon under my chin. I grabbed my string purse and walked downstairs. I went in the kitchen where the girls were in their highchairs eating pieces of biscuits.

I kissed their heads and smiled" Grandma, are you sure you don't want to go into town with us?"

Annie smiled " well someone needs to stay here and make sure that these babies are taken care of."

I smiled" oh but Jake and Luke informed me that they have this under control."

Annie laughed" I know but I don't want them to get to overwhelmed with how much work these two little ladies take."

I smiled" but Grandma, I want to see if they can handle the girls on their own."

Annie smiled" I see where you are going with this, I just have to change out of this apron."

I smiled" I knew you would want to go."

We were laughing when Jake and Luke came in to take over the girls. Jake kissed me " wow I am really going to miss you."

I smiled" well I could stay here if the girls are going to be to much for you."

Jake shook his head" no, you both need to get out and have a good time in town."

I kissed him" Thank you baby, I will make it up to you later."

He grinned" then why are you still here then?"

I laughed as I was following Annie out of the door.

Megan was already outside and waiting in the buggy" I am ready to go, I am itching for at least a new bonnet."

I laughed" we had to make sure that the girls were left in good hands."

Megan laughed " two girls and three helpless guys, we better leave now before they change their minds."

We climbed up into the buggy and went to town. Jake and David held the girls and was waving as we left. As soon as I was out of the girls sights, all hell broke loose. They started to cry " mum mm, mum." Jake tried to console them, but they weren't having it.

David looked at his brother" do they cry like this all the time."

Jake shook his head" no, Lizzie is always taking care of them, Annie helps but no."

David shook his head" well think of something to get them to stop crying." They ran around the house to figure out how to get the girls to quiet down.
