A new beginning

The best day ever or maybe?

We arrived in town and decided to visit the Mercantile first. I climbed down and helped Annie and Megan out. Megan was ready to pop, hope she didn't deliver like I did. Annie joked" well it would be nice to have been there when you delivered the twins, so go ahead Megan."

Megan laughed" only as long as I deliver as easy as Lizzie did."

I smiled" I am so happy that I delivered quick and easy."

We walked in to the store giggling, and first table we went to were the bonnets for the girls. I picked up several different colored ones and fingered the lace on the brim. I was starting to miss my babies, Megan grabbed my hand" they are okay and Jake has everything under control with David."

I nodded" I know but this is my first time away from them."

Annie patted my shoulder" They are fine and let's enjoy our time in town."

I nodded" I wonder what is happening right now?"

We all laughed, Megan smiled" well I bet those two little girls are giving them a run for their money." We laughed and started to shop, I picked out two new bonnets for the girls.

"Why won't they stop crying?" David groaned.

Jake banged his head on the table" they miss their mother, this was suppose to be easy."

Luke came in the door eating an apple" wow can them babies wail."

Jake and David groaned " we know."

Luke walked over to the girls and picked them up. They quieted down for a bit, Jake and David looked at each other. Luke started to coo at them" now now girls Uncle Luke is here, no need to cry." They looked up at himand smiled, Emily stuck her fingers in her mouth and gurgled. Jake and Luke watched as Luke had the babies giggling.

Jake stood up and asked" okay, we want to know how you did that?"

Luke smiled" cause I am their Uncle and besides I play with them everyday."

Jake stared " but so do I wonder why they stopped crying for him?"

David smiled" well maybe because he favors their mommy?"

Luke laughed" who knows but at least they are quiet and it's better than what you two were doing." Jake and David nodded in agreement, Jake took Emma " why don't we take these pretty little ladies outside for a bit?" They were all in agreement and gathered different items to carry with them.

We were going through piles of material, when we heard a familiar voice" well they will let just about anyone in here." Annie smiled" Hello Mr. Woodson, sour and rude as usual."

Ken snapped " well if it wasn't for her, I would still have my precious Amber."

Annie saw that he was pointing in my direction" you sir better stop with the accusations."

He sneered" why? going to have me put away?"

Annie smiled" no, I am not like you besides how is your bank doing?"

He sneered" you stupid Bit--, you know that it isn't open anymore because of you."

Annie smiled" well I did warn you, that if you continued to viciously attack my granddaughter what was going to happen."

He sneered" you ruined me and that is why you both are going to pay."

Annie laughed " you are a sorry excuse for a man, you could have remarried and had more children."

He huffed" well my daughter took most of my time, and besides it's none of your business."

Annie smiled" really? maybe if you weren't so bitter and hateful some lady might just take you up on it."
