A new beginning

Spring is finally here

After getting caught in that blizzard, I was in bed for days afterwards. Jake stayed right by my side. He would only leave when he needed to go and get something to eat. I loved having him next to me in bed. This was the first that we had ever laid together in a bed. I loved the feeling and didn't ever want him to leave.

This is what I wanted to be doing, laying in his arms for the rest of my life. He would lay there and rub my belly where his baby was growing inside of me. The baby would get excited and start kicking. He loved the feeling of his baby kicking him. The blizzard stayed for a day, it was terrible I was lucky to be alive. I must be like a cat and have nine lives, because I have already escaped death a few times.

I had decided not to try to do anything stupid again, I realize now that I am new to this climate. Jake had been right, he would have noticed the weather change and came to safety. I had to think about my baby, my husband and my grandmother. Luke lived over with David and Megan. He had decided he wanted to stay there for a bit to give us some room here with the baby coming soon. I only had a few months left, I was growing nervous each day.

Annie came up the stairs" you two need to come down for breakfast this morning."

We nodded" We will."

She shook her head" you two are shameless, the snow is melting and there is work to do."

I smiled" okay, we will be down in a few minutes."

Jake laughed" Annie, you are really killing a moment right now."

Annie laughed as she went back down stairs. Jake kissed the tip of my nose " well I have to go and finish the cabin."

I frowned " no, I want to lay here all day with you."

Jake smiled" well we can do that after I am done for the day."

I snuggled into his side" Please Jakie. I want to be with you."

It was so hard for him to resist, but he had to or nothing would be done before the baby came. I pouted" please Jakie, I want to be with you laying on our bed together." Jake smiled" but baby, I need to get the cabin finished before the baby is here." I nodded" okay fine, we can do this later." Jake got up and got dressed" I will miss you today." I smiled" I will miss you more." Jake kissed me and walked downstairs, I heaved my growing body off the bed to get dressed.

I went down to the kitchen " Grandma, I want to know what to expect when I deliver."

Annie about sliced her fingers off" child. you still have a bit to go before that baby is ready to come out."

I nodded" I know but I want to know what to expect."

Annie shook her head" well right now is not the time to discuss this."

I shook my head" please grandma, I really want to know."

Annie shook her head" let us wait till that baby is about to come out of there."

I started to fidget" I can't think of anything else, but the experience of having a baby."

Annie cackled" well you really don't have a choice dear but go through it."

I grabbed a roll and started to butter it" I just hope that it isn't anything like what Amber went through."

Annie stopped slicing" I will tell you this much, not every delivery will be the same."

I looked at her " what do you mean by that?"

Annie smiled" some women have it easy and some have it hard."

I felt some relief" I thought that I was going to die, I don't want to die."

Annie laughed " only the bad women die, as long as you have been a good girl it won't happen to you."
