The truth about Lizzie

Megan and I were sitting on my front porch watching as Alex was trying to walk and the twins were now walking and running. Oh the running, they didn't walk anywhere they ran. I was exhausted by the end of the day by chasing them, they were good girls but very energetic. When their daddy would come home after working in the fields planting, they would dart out the front door. Jake thought it was cute how they would come and meet him, with me running behind them.I here lately just couldn't get enough sleep, it had to be from taking care of the twins.

Megan looked at me" Lizzie, you really need to go lay down for a bit."

I shook my head" those two precious little girls are going to be the death of me."

Megan laughed" they are walking now and soon I will be running after my little man."

I laughed" well thank goodness you don't have double trouble to run after." We were laughing, we heard a buggy approaching. I stood up to see a very pregant Mary driving down the lane.

Mary had turned Ken into a lap dog, he did whatever she said. Annie put her money back into his bank, so he was back in business. She had a couple of months left in her pregancy. She got pregant on their honeymoon, she was happy and that is what counted. Megan and I waved at her, she was here to talk to Annie about something. Annie had taken Mary in and claimed her as the daughter she would have had if her husband would have lived. Annie was happy. Everyone in town would comment in how much a year and half has turned a lonely old woman into one that looked forward to each day. I was happy that I came here, I wouldn't have my soul mate, and my babies even though they tired me out.

Megan looked at me" Lizzie, are you pregant?"

I teared up" I think so, I just didn't want to face it till I knew if I was."

Megan laughed" oh great, it seems when you get pregant I follow behind you."

I shook my head" I wanted to wait until the girls were a little older."

Megan smiled" look if you are, we will all help you that's what family is for."

I looked up at her" I am late, I haven't had my woman's curse for a month."

Megan giggled " well my sister dear, that is your answer."

I nodded" I just didn't want to admit it, don't get me wrong I want another baby but not this soon."

Megan patted my back" look I promise to be here to help you."

I was crying when Jake came up the from the field for lunch. He ran up to us " are the girls okay? what's wrong?" He looked worried, Megan smiled" she's okay, she needs to talk to you." Megan gathered all of the babies and went into the cabin.

Jake sat next to me and pulled me close" sweet heart what is the matter?"

I looked up into his eyes" your going to be a daddy again."

Jake stared at me blankly" what did you say?"

I looked at him " your going to be a daddy again."

He stood up and pulled me with him" really? are you sure?"

I nodded" yes, I am sure."

He picked me up and hugged " oh baby that is great news, I am so happy to be the first one you told this time."

I didn't think about that, when I found out I was pregnant with the twins he didn't find out until I was further along. I smiled" well this could be your boy?"

Jake smiled" it would be nice, but I will be happy even if we have all girls."

I hugged him tight" I love you Jakie, please never stop loving me."
