A new beginning

Annie is on the war path.

Annie arrived at the Mercantile to start asking questions about what had happened. John stood behind the counter, when he seen Annie he cringed. Everyone knew that Annie was a sweet lady, she would do most anything for you. But when she was upset she was a force of fury. No one liked to see Annie all riled up because she was going to tear someone apart.

You just had to hope it wasn't you who mad her mad. John smiled at her" Mrs.Butler, how nice to see you can I get anything for you?"

Annie glared at him" I hear that my granddaughter was treated with disrespect this morning by one of your patrons."

John stuttered" Y-y-yesm-Mame S-s-she was."

Annie looked at him" who did this? Come on now I want names?"

He nodded" it was the banker's daughter Amber."

Annie nodded" I hear there was another girl also involved."

John nodded" yes the preacher's daughter Brittany."

Annie snorted" well I want to hear your version cause I am going to make a visit to these girls parents house."

John stuttered" Y-yes M-Mame, your granddaughter and her friend were looking at the bolts of material."

Annie nodded and motioned for him to continue. He started again" they were minding their own business, when Amber and Brittany started to make certain comments.".

Annie nodded " so for certain these to started the mess and my granddaughter was not right?"

He nodded " your granddaughter and her friend did well trying to ignore the comments those two were throwing at them."

Annie smiled" Thank you John, I am off to fix this situation."

John smiled " Good Luck cause your going to need it when talking to the Banker."

Annie smiled" I have handled worse men then that.".

John nodded" I will take your word on that, but he won't believe you on anything that his daughter does." Annie smiled " Thanks for the warning but I will still talk to them.". Annie turned on her heel, she walked over to the church.

As she entered the church she found that Pastor Samuel was talking with his wife. Annie approached them" Pastor Samuel, need to have a word with your wife and you." Pastor Samuel smiled " well good afternoon Annie what brings you here this afternoon?"

Annie nodded" well it's about your daughter Brittany."

Samuel motioned for Annie to sit down" I was going over my sermon for Sunday's service."

His wife Vera smiled" please come and sit and talk, Brittany will be here in a few minutes."

Annie nodded" look I know you love your daughter and want to give her the best things in life but, she needs to choose better friends."

Samuel looked at Annie" what do you mean by that?"

Annie proceeded to tell him about his daughters part in the scheme she was in. Vera shook her head " I don't think Brittany would do such a thing."

Annie nodded" I have on good faith that John at the mercantile saw it go down with his own eyes."

Samuel shook his head" Brittany wouldn't do such a thing to anyone, we raised her with compassion."

Annie smiled " I know you did but a bad influence can change a person."

Vera shook her head" I don't believe it, Brittany wouldn't do a thing like that." As if on cue Brittany came in" Mom, Dad, I'm home from Amber's." She had a grin on her face when she turned the corner and seen Annie sitting there.
