Where's Lizzie?

When morning came Annie was ready, Megan came downstairs pushing the last pin in place to hold her hair. The wagon filled with the men were coming down the drive. Everyone was getting ready to finish what was started. First Annie had to stop at the jail house to drop off Lizzie's breakfast. Sheriff Jack wouldn't mind if she did, even though she was still sore with him, she didn't blame him. He was just doing his job, not only that it would be the safest place for her.

Today was December 23rd the day before David and Megan were due to be married. Hope this all ended today, if not they were willing to just get married in a small ceremony. Most likely in the jail house, provided Lizzie is still there. Annie had a feeling something bad is about to happen, couldn't put her finger on it. Megan squeezed Annie's hand" I can't wait to see Lizzie, she must be worried sick about what is going to happen."

Annie nodded" I just hope that she was comfortable, this isn't good for the baby."

Megan nodded" I know, I sure hope Jake doesn't let her know that he knows about the baby?"

Annie smiled" well he better not, because Lizzie wants to tell him when the time is right."

Megan sighed" if he spills the beans she is going to be mad at us."

Annie grimaced" well he needed to know in case if something happened."

Megan shook her head" well nothing is going to happen to her."

Annie nodded" I am having a feeling like something is going to happen."

Megan nodded" I am going to think positive thoughts."

Annie smiled" someone needs to, well anyways the boys are here so let's go and get this over with."

Megan smiled" onward soldier's, we have a battle to win." Annie laughed " you just sounded like my late husband, he would say that before he would return to war." They both stepped down the steps and into the waiting wagon.

I couldn't get comfortable, even though it was actually cozy for a jail cell,it was not home. The Sheriff slept at his desk, and I paced the floor most of the night. I was beginning to have doubts about this whole mess.

I looked back a few short months ago, Luke and I was sick with the fever. Not only that, we moved from out west to back east. We have done so much in the last six months to last a lifetime. I didn't care anymore what people thought, I was going to have a baby out of wedlock. It wasn't my fault, Jake was stolen right out from the tip of my nose. He was soon to hear about the baby.

I rubbed my belly, it was just a slight baby bump. I sighed" well little one your mama has gotten us in such a fine mess." My stomach growled in protest" I hear ya, but we have to wait just a little bit longer." Just as I said that the door flew open and in came Amber.

I groaned" what do you want?"

Amber smiled" you look right at home behind bars."

I glared" well so do you even if it is from this side of the bars I am looking through."

She smiled" well I have come to offer you a plea bargain."

I shook my head" I am not taking nothing from you,when will you get the picture, I can't stand you why won't you leave me alone?"

She cackled" well you moved here in this town and ruined everything."

I glared" I did no such thing, I didn't ruin you maybe your father did that."

She shouted " you leave my daddy alone, he has nothing to do with this!"

I smiled' what? he has everything to do with this."
