A new beginning

Here comes the bride.

Megan and David decided to name their baby boy, Alexander James Hugh's. He was a big baby, no wonder his momma was hurting so bad. He weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds and 3 ounces. He was 23 inches tall, and he was already getting spoiled. David was a good father, he would take Alex with him on to the porch so Megan could get some rest. He was a really good father, Megan was a really good mother. Megan apologized to us all when she realized just how hard she was squeezing our hands.

Annie and Mary just smiled" oh we know exactly how much it hurts."

I looked at her and smiled " oh don't worry when I have my next baby I am going to remember just how much to squeeze your hand."

We all laughed as Megan winced" I guess I squeezed yours a little to much then."

I nodded" oh no not a little to much, just enough to make a grown man cry and beg for mercy."

Megan smiled" I am truly sorry Lizzie, I was in so much pain."

I just eyed her" yeah, I bet you did and don't worry I felt just as much with you."

We all laughed, Jake and David were cooing over the new addition to our family. I wanted to give him a son, so that he would be able to teach him how to be a man. I just wanted to wait til the twins got a little older, they were a handful now. The girls were starting to toddle around things. Annie and Mary took joy in watching the girls, they were a big help. Especially since Mary was still grieving for Thomas, she needed a distraction. She was still young, she could get married and have a new family.

I pulled Megan to the side after dinner and we were all sitting on the front porch of Annie's house. Megan stumbled " Lizzie, what's wrong?"

I pulled her close" I think I have a problem."

Megan's eyes got big" your not pregant are you?"

I shook my head" oh no not for a while, no my problem is finding Mary a new husband."

Megan rolled her eyes" what if she doesn't want one?"

Lizzie smiled" I have known Mary since I was born, she doesn't do well if she hasn't got someone to look after."

Megan nodded" okay, but who would be good enough for her?"

I shook my head" that's the whole problem, I can't think of anyone who could stand up to her image of Thomas." We were walking down the path that lead to the pond, we left the others playing with the babies.

Mary smiled" I just wanted to say to all of you, Thank you for letting me stay here."

Annie pished poshed" look you are family, even if it isn't blood related."

Jake smiled" besides you have helped Lizzie and I care for our girls, where is Lizzie?"

David looked around " Megan and Lizzie are walking towards the pond, oh no they are up to something."

Jake shook his head" great, wonder who their plot includes?"

They looked at Mary" better sleep with one eye open, they are good."

Annie laughed" that was because you two just made them mad by not communicating with them."

Mary was confused" okay, I am missing something here."

Annie smiled" well these two failed to warn them about Amber, so when they met her she told them a fib."

Jake and David hung their heads" yeah and it ended with horse dung flying through the air at us."

Mary started to giggle" I can actually picture that too."

Annie told her the story while Jake and David cringed. Mary was laughing so hard at the story of her god daughter doing such a thing, but that was Lizzie. Mary smiled" well she was always a child who stood up for herself, some of the things she would get into."
