Chapter 6 - Bullying Of The Day

"W-who are you?" I stammered.

"Your master now." He smirked, walking out of the front door and to his car.

"I might have to repeat this since you weren't there when I said it, but I made myself very clear that I was nobody's property." I sassed angerly, lifting up the safety scissors in my hand and dropping my arm harshly onto his back. The safety scissors dug into his back and he screamed in pain.

He loosened his grip on me and I took the chance to slither out of his grip, dashing the same direction I did to get to my house the first time.

As I was running, I heard the door slam open. "Melissa! Get back here!" Jordan screamed.

I looked behind me and saw Jordan weakly jogging to me, the whole waterworks spilling out of his eyes.

I felt terrible for Jordan and I wanted to stop right there and give him a hug to comfort him, but I needed to get home. I needed to see Ruby. I needed my normal life back.

I ran faster, easily losing Jordan behind me. I turned into an ally and waited. I needed them to think I was gone.

"Melissa!" Jordan cried again. "Damnit. Where'd she go?" He cursed, walking right past the alley I was hidden in.

"She couldn't have gone far." She's definitely not going home since she knows we will find her there." Marcus stated casually, not a care in the world.

Holding my breath, I hid behind and a group of boxes in the alley when I saw Marcus glance in my direction.

I stayed behind the boxes for a few minutes deciding that they probably would've forgotten about me by now. That's what everybody does...

I slowly walked out from behind the boxes and silence filled the atmosphere. As I walked out from the boxes, I held my breath again as I peaked around the corners of the ally way. Gone.

Without hesitation, I immediately dashed out from the ally way and to my home direction, remembering the pathway like it was yesterday. OH WAIT, IT WAS YESTERDAY.

It was close to two days though. It was probably around 11:30 PM, judging by the dark night sky with the bright moon and glitter-like stars.

Once I entered my neighborhood, feet probably still bleeding once again from my desire for home, I decided to walk.

1. So I could enjoy the beautiful night sky while it lasts.

2. So I could give my feet a break from the marathon distance running I was achieving.

If only it was a movie marathon instead.

I finally reached my house after the night stroll and casually walking into the house.

Considering I just escaped a kidnapping again, I was sure really calm about it this time. I know they're slowly making me turn into my past self, but this is just getting ridiculous. Maybe I should be normal for once.

The first thing I saw was Ruby past out on the couch. I quietly shut the door to not disturb her, but the sound of me locking the door caused her to instantly shoot up from her spot and stare at me, a mixture of confusion, excitement, and anger flashed in her blue eyes.

"Please tell me this isn't a dream." She smiled, choking a sob. She immediately stood up and dashed towards me, bear hugging me. I hugged her tightly back but stopped when I almost suffocated to death.

~Time Skip~

"We're going to school tomorrow. They know where we live, so I don't want to take any chances of being abducted while I'm here. I just want to enjoy my life while it lasts." I sighed, explaining to Ruby before we went to bed. We were both exhausted from catching up, crying, devouring ice cream, etc.
