Chapter 8 - Holy Mother Of Nature
"Get off me, you baby. What the hell is wrong with you guys? You're all acting super weird. I get that you don't want me to tell you where your secret base is or give away your identity's or anything like that, but barging into the school and making the entire school wonder why a bunch of 20-year-old men are trying to take an 18-year-old mute out of school is not okay.
"Ray knocked out my teacher, Marcus just ate my lunch, and you ran into the girl's locker room to hug me!" I ranted.
"We thought you'd like the attention," Marcus said behind me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders, making my body stiffen.
"Like the attention? I passed out from too much of it! And now thanks to you guys, the most popular girl in school wants to kill me."
Jordan frowned. "You were the one who talked back to her."
"And you were the one who ran into the girl's locker room, causing her to talk to me in the first place." I blamed, shoving Marcus off of me and staring at the two.
"Geez. What happened to you princess? You used to be so quiet." Ray said, walking up to us and smirking.
"I was always this way, pig. I just became quiet after what happened to my sister." I growled.
"What happened to Ruby?" They all asked in sync.
"Who said it was Ruby?" I clenched my jaw before angerly walking off.
They stood in shock and confusion for a few seconds before running up to me.
I stormed through the school, completely ignoring their questions. I blinked back tears as I thought of all the memories I had with her.
"Melissa! What do you mean?" Ray pressed. He stood in front of me with his grip on my shoulders and was shaking me slightly.
After that, I couldn't help myself. It was all too much. Tears flooded from my eyes as I sobbed quietly and shook out of his grasp. I balled up right then and there on the floor, crying into my knees.
"No, my cinnamon roll. Please don't cry." Jordan begged, crouching to my level and hugging me.
I leaned into the hug, not caring anymore that he was my kidnapper.
I sobbed in his arms for a couple more minutes as he caressed my hair softly.
Picture this: You're thinking of your past, causing you to cry like a maniac. You ball up on the floor as three 20-year-old men surround you. One of them, having the audacity to comfort you, cradles you in his arms as he strokes your hair.
Quite the attention grabber.
People stared from across the school, keeping their distance from either being concerned, confused, or recognizing the three men as dangerous from before. Mostly Ray.
"Lissa!? Oh my god, what did you jerks do to her??" I heard Ruby scream. She pulled me away from Jordan's arms and hugged me herself. "Lissa, what happened?" She asked softly.
"I miss her," I whispered, trying to stop crying.
"I do too." Ruby sighed, gripping tighter on the hug.
After a couple minutes of crying in each other's arms, and Ray, Marcus, and Jordan awkwardly standing there, people soon crowded around us and I started to panic a little.
Ray noticed my panic and turned to look at everyone. "You guys better leave right now or I swear." He growled.
"You swear what?" A random guy in the crowd shouted.
