Chapter 32 - >:D

"Lissa!? Where are you?"

I groaned when I heard Ruby calling my name. Sitting up slowly, I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and almost choked from the gasp I let out.

I fell asleep on the roof. All I could see was Ruby running around in our front yard.

"H-hi," I said awkwardly, immediately catching Ruby's attention.

She looked around for a few seconds and then spotted me on the roof. "Oh my god! Lissa? What are you doing up there?"

"I like... the stars." I forced out.

"There are no stars out." Ruby sighed.

"The sun is a star, dear sister." I tisked, climbing down the tree I used to get up there.

"You're still in your pajamas. Did you sleep up there?"

I looked away. "Maybe..."

Ruby sighed again and pulled me into the house. "Get ready for school."

I nodded and did so. And here I thought I was free for a week.

We drove to school and it was just how I expected it to be. Everyone's attention was towards me. I tried my best to hide in my hoodie, but that definitely didn't work.

"Where have you been?"

"The way you stood up to Jessica and Justin at the mall was awesome!"

"Would you like to sit with us at lunch?"

"Are any of those guys in a relationship?"

Justin grinned every time he saw me and blushed every time he saw Ruby. It was cute.

It was surprising to see Mason at school, but he probably was just a spy for The Boys. Every time we made eye contact, he'd look away awkwardly.

I tried eating by myself at lunch like usual, but Justin and Ruby sat with me. Along with Mason, but he was at the other end of the table, just glancing at me every 10 seconds.

Some of The Populars tried sitting with us, but Justin and Ruby told them to fuck off.

I mean, they didn't say "fuck off" but they did say "no". It just seemed like more of a "fuck off" tone.

~Time Skip~

The rest of the day went by fast.

Students were asking me questions. Teachers were asking me questions. I was asking myself questions.

Mason was always staring and Justin and Ruby were always grinning and blushing.

Mason was probably the main source of my bullying, so when The Boys found out, he stopped. Which was much appreciated.

I seriously doubt it because feelings don't change so fast, but I feel like Mason didn't stop just because The Boys threatened him. I'm not extremely dense like my mother, so I think I might know another reason he stopped.

Mason likes me.

And if he does, then I guess he's going to be let down. I don't have feelings for anyone at the moment. My life is too complicated to have romances added to the mix.

Mom made dinner for once and it was actually really delicious. She worked on it while we were at school. It was a beef stew.

Everything was nice for once. I wasn't used to it. It felt... too nice.

What if I was finally free and lived the rest of my days like this? Every day would be nice and I could get some therapy to rant about everything. Ranting helps me. Sometimes. It feels nice every time I rant because I don't talk much at school.
