Karoline stared at the mark in the mirror, her shirt hung over her shoulder as she brushed her fingers over the burns lightly. What was the point of having an anti-posession tattoo if Demons could just burn right over it. Or maybe it was just something Ruby could do. She felt his prescence behind her before she saw him and she sighed, not even phased by his sudden entrances anymore.
"Hey, Cassy." She muttered, Dean and Alayna were out getting breakfast, they should be back any minute now.
"Good morning Karoline." He greeted in his same deep, monotone voice, looking around the room curiously. "Where is Dean and Alayna?"
"Getting breakfast," She finally turned around to face him jerking back slightly at how close he was. "Cas, we've talked about this," she said into his face. "Personal space?"
Castiel looked down the length of her body, but not in like a sexual way, but in the way you would to make sure the person was okay, that they weren't hurt, and then took a few steps back. "My apologies."
He frowned in concentration, running his fingers across the mark. A slight tingle passed through Karoline and she looked down surprised to see it healed. "No Demon should be able to break it anymore." He explained.
"How'd you do that?" She asked, her blue eyes meeting his curiously. "I thought you and Heaven were on the outs."
"I do still have some of my powers." He reminded her and she nodded, pressing her lips into a tight line.
Thats when Dean and Alayna got back, coming through the door with a McDonalds bag. Dean stopped whatever he was about to say when he saw the two, "whats going on?"
Karoline looked down at herself and then Cas, then finally at her sister and Dean, "Cas just kinda, showed up." She sighed as she pulled her shirt back on.
"How did you find us?" Alayna asked. "I thought we were flying below the angel radar."
"You are," Cas replied. "Bobby told me where you were." He looked around, noting that there was one person of their group missing. "Where's Sam?" He asked.
"Sam's taking a separate vacation for a while," Dean replied. "So, you find God yet? More importantly, can I have my damn necklace back, please?" He still didn't feel whole without it. It was starting to give him the heebie jeebies.
"No," Cas replied. "I haven't found him. That's why I'm here. I need your help."
Alayna's eyebrows shot up with interest at that. "With what?" She asked.
"A God hunt?" Dean guessed. "Not interested."
"It's not God," Cas answered. "It's someone else."
"Who?" Karoline asked.
"An archangel. The one who killed me," Cas said.
"Excuse me?" Dean asked. He didn't like the sound of that. Anything that could kill an angel sounded like it was worth not getting on the wrong side of. Far as Dean was concerned, they were not anywhere near on this archangel's watch list, and it seemed to him it was best to keep it that way.
"His name is Raphael," Cas said.
"You got wasted by a teenage mutant ninja turtle?" Dean asked with a smirk.
Cas ignored his comment, turning to Karoline. "I've heard whispers he's walking the earth. This is a rare opportunity."
"For what?" She asked. "Revenge?"
"Information," he clarified.
Dean shook his head, wandered over to the minibar and pulled out a beer. He opened it and took a long pull of it while he watched Karoline out of the corner of his eye, and started to weigh up the pros and cons of what Cas was asking.
