While Ruby headed upstairs to grab Daryll's things, Dean headed into the kitchen looking for some type of liquor to drink. He let out a soft cry of accomplishment when he found a bottle of whiskey on the counter. He poured himself a small glass, feeling the presence behind him before he saw him, "Would you like one?" He turned to his brother offering a glass, the younger Winchester shrugged. "Say it, whatever it is, purge, get it out."

"It's about what Ruby said." Sam admitted and Dean frowned.

"What about?" Dean asked.

"Well, I know that you and Alayna have... bonded," Sam began hesitantly, not wanting to come off the wrong way. "And I know that she cares about you and...I know you care about her."

Dean threw back his drink, watching Sam carefully, "Well, this is going in an interesting direction."

"I'm just concerned about Alayna being hurt," Sam shifted his approach, leaning back against the counter as he watched Dean carefully. "She considers you a friend."

"Same here," Dean set his glass aside. "Alayna is a very good friend. Actually, she might qualify as my only... Friend." Dean frowned at that, and how true it was. Sam was his brother and Karoline... he didn't know what to call Karoline. He only knew that she didn't fall anywhere near the friend category. Then there was Cas, but he was just starting to warm up to him. Then there was Alayna. She was always there just helping him watch out for Sam and never backing down from a fight against him, she wasn't afraid to tell him he was wrong or she didn't agree with what he was saying. And he liked that.

"Is that a problem?" Dean challenged, raising his eyebrows at his younger brother.

"So, at the risk of sounding like uh..." Sam trailed off, licking his lips. "Like a jealous ex-boyfriend."

"Oh, there's no risk," Dean cut him off with a sarcastic smile. "You do."

"That will not be happening," Sam said bluntly, and Dean looked at him incredulously at his tone. "Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Dean watched him for a moment, before nodding, "Sure. Sure."

Dean went to go move passed him and back out into the living room where the girls were, wanting to be anywhere other then where this conversation was taking place. Sam stopped him with a hand on his chest, "Do you understand?"

Dean looked at Sam then slowly down at his hand and nudged his arm away, "Whatever you say man, I mean honestly we're just friends." Dean looked back at his brother as he headed back out into the living room. Sam watched him walk away the whole way, his face contorted into a curious look.

They waited half an hour. Karoline was examining the Castiel action figure when Dean made the decision to go check on Ruby. "She's been up there a long time," Dean said, leading the way up the stairs. When they reached the bedroom that was Daryll's nursery, they found it empty.

"He's gone," Cas's voice sounded behind them, Karoline breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the angel restored to his normal self.

"Where?" Alayna asked.

"I don't know. Ruby had Daryll put everyone in town back to normal—the ones still alive. Then they vanished." Cas replied. Alayna turned, noticing a piece of paper in Daryll's crib. Picking it up, she opened it, reading the short note before handing it to Karoline.

"What does it say?" Dean asked.

"That she had to leave to keep him safe, she couldn't risk leaving with us," Karoline replied.

"How do we find them?"

"With the boy's powers, we can't. Not unless he wants to be found." Cas said.
