They were in some sort of commercial. Sam and Dean were playing a bit of two-on-two against the girls. Karoline scored and high-fived Alayna while Sam turned around to look into the distance, a pained expression on his face.
"Seriously?" He asked after a moment. Dean stopped bouncing the ball and jogged over to him.
"Hey, you're the one who said play our roles," Dean said, somewhere internally he knew they were in a commercial for medical relief.
"Yeah," Sam sighed. "Right." he grinned, turning to eye off Alayna and Karoline who were waving them over. Dean clapped Sam on the shoulder and then ran off to join them. "I've got genital herpes," Sam said to the imaginary camera. Dean was already snickering by the time his next line came around. "But now I take twice-daily Herpexia to reduce my chances of passing it on."
Alayna was standing by the side, reading from a script when Dean reached them. "Patients should always consult with a physician before using Herpexia. Possible side effects include headache, diarrhea, permanent erectile dysfunction, thoughts of suicide, and nausea."
Dean gestured to her questioningly, and Karoline shrugged, replied, "voiceover." Dean chuckled, looking back at Sam.
"I am doing all I can to slightly lessen the spread of—of genital herpes. And that's a good thing." With a smile, he turned, jogging back to them with a scowl on his face as Dean tossed the ball at the ring, getting a perfect 3-points.
They'd lost track of how many different takes they'd had in this crazy world of the Trickster. They were no closer to escaping the madness when they landed in one of the shows they'd spent their childhood watching. There was a theme song playing over unseen speakers as they all played their roles.
Town to town, two-land roads, family biz, that's how hunting goes
From their position, the girls could see Sam and Dean playing out their intro part, backing into each other and startling ... completely unlike them at all. They burst out laughing and Alayna shook her head in amusement.
Living a lie just to get by
They watched Sam open a cabinet. A ghost in a white sheet attempted to scare him, he shut the door and pushed his back against it, looking frightened.
As long as we're moving forward.
The scene had changed to the Impala. Dean was under the hood, working on changing spark plugs. He wiped his forehead, smearing grease across it, and Sam pointed and laughed. Dean looked at his hand and laughed back.
Once more the scene changed. Alayna was getting a monster out of the fridge when Dean suddenly came up behind her and snatched it out of her hand. Her eyes narrowed dangerously and she opened her mouth to yell at him, but no words came out as the scene changed.
Karoline was coming out of the bathroom, toweling her wet hair, a towel around her torso when Dean suddenly walked in. Her eyes widened. "Dean. Towel. Knock!"
There's nothing we can't do, together we'll face the day
Another park scene. This time Alayna was on a tandem bicycle with Karoline, and she laughed, pedalling away. Sam was on a similar bike next to them with Dean, chatting happily as they all pretended like this was the most normal thing in the world when they'd never done this in their lives.
You and I won't run away
When the demons come out to play
Sam threw a football at Dean who caught it, and then bounced it on the ground. The girls laughed wildly and tackled him out of left field, falling to the ground on top of him with a grunt. Sam joined them, falling in a heap, and they all laughed happily, flopping back onto the ground.
