The sun was high in the afternoon sky, the heat radiating down in visible waves. The car engine hummed, over doing the sound of the gravel between the tires as the small black Camaro pulled up to the side of the road next to the deep blue jeep. A man with curly brown hair and thick facial hair, climbed out of the Camaro, taking even strides over to the jeep.

The tinted window rolled down to reveal sunglass covered eyes, "Where is she?" She asked, getting straight to business.

"In the trunk," He nodded back towards his car. "I did as you asked."

Her lips were barely visible, but it was enough for him to see the smirk curve up on her lips, "Good, put her in the back." She instructed, popping the trunk of her jeep.

The curly haired man nodded. He popped open his own trunk revealing an unconscious Alayna Van Allen, sprawled out in the back. He scooped her up easily in his arms, bringing her over to his employers trunk, laying her down in the much spacier trunk. The woman in the sunglasses shifted her gaze to the rear view mirror as Alayna's face came into view, a smirk taking over her face. She heard and felt he slam of the trunk closing and her attention returned to the stranger who kidnapped the hunter for her.

"Good," she smirked. "Come here, I gotta tell you something."

The curly haired man frowned, but otherwise leaned in. "Closer," Again he did as he was told. As soon as he was in arms reach the woman reached out and slashed a dagger across his throat, watching the red blood seep from the wound as she shoved the body back and let it fall into the sand. Things were falling into place.

The large abandoned house she was staying at wasn't more than an hour down the road and by the time she had gotten there and was in the midst of half carrying half dragging Alayna inside, she'd woken up.

"What do you want?" She asked as the stranger shoved her onto the couch. Her voice was quiet, and raw from not using them, holding that raspy tone you got when you first wake up. "Please, I'm hurt." She didn't say anything, just watched her curiously, removing her hat to reveal long, brown waves, and then her sunglasses to reveal enchanting brown eyes.

"Ruby?" Alayna choked out, her eyes wide.

"Sh, sh, sh," she hushed her gently. "It's been awhile Alayna." She took a seat on the couch beside the brunette and started undoing the bonds around her ankles, but Alayna jerked back from the contact

"Where's Daryl?" She asked, looking around for any sign of the young child.

Ruby sighed, "he's safe. Don't worry about it."

"What do you want?" She repeated her question from earlier, her voice much more demanding then the first time. Ruby didn't even look at her, let alone answer her question.

"What do you want with me?" She asked the demon, her voice much more demanding, this time.

She didn't answer, just stared at her with her hazel eyes, shaking her head, "you look just like her, you know."

"Catherine? Please, whatever-" She began desperately, pushing up off the couch.

"Be quiet." She snapped, her voice more firm, and cut, her eyes hard as she watched the brunette hunter.

"Ruby, you don't have to do this. Catherine, we-we can handle her," Alayna shook her head desperately. "You don't have to do this."

"I said be quiet." Ruby snapped.

"What do you want?" Alayna asked quietly for what seemed to be the hundredth time in the last five minutes.

"I want you to be quiet." The demon grit her teeth, lashing out and backhanding the girl. The power of the hit, knocked her back onto the cough and rendered her unconscious. Ruby let out a heavy sigh, pushing her dark waves out of her face, "I said, be quiet."
