OH MY GOD ITS THE LAST CHAPTER!!! AHHH I CANT BELIEVE GO ON READ AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. I HAD ABOUT A BILLION WAYS I THOUGHT ABOUT WRITING THIS FINALE AND I LIKE HOW IT ENDED!
When Alayna woke up the sunlight was hitting her face and she was well aware of the hard ground beneath her. And then she was aware of the heat. She groaned as she sat up, rubbing out the crick in her neck. She took notice of the fire ring around her.
"It's about time." She looked up to see Catherine standing in front of her and then over at the familiar Angel in a similar ring of fire as her.
"Elijah." She whispered. Her eyes turned back to Catherine with a deadly glare, "I should've known you were involved in this."
"Hey, I'm here against my will too sweetheart, so don't get uppity with me," Catherine sneered and Alayna's glare hardened. "The only thing keeping me here. Is knowing that if I run, my life is over."
Catherine pushed up off the tombstone she was resting against, and Alayna just then noticed the silver blade she twirled in her hands. Alayna shook her head as the witch pulled out a vile and walked over to Elijah. "Stop!" She protested. "Catherine... Please, just... just let him go."
"Karoline chose him." Catherine smirked and with that plunged the blade into his stomach.
"Catherine, don't!" Alayna cried, but it was too late. Catherine held up the vile and Alayna watched in horrified fascination as the white Angel grace flowed from his mouth and into the vile. Elijah's body fell to the ground.
Catherine pursed her lips as she looked the vile over, "Interesting." She tossed it once, caught it, and stuck it into the pocket of her jacket.
"What was that for?" Alayna whispered.
"The ritual is completed in stages," a familiar voice said, except it was so different at the same time. Cold, unwelcoming, everything that was the complete opposite of Sam. She turned to see him walking up towards them. "First Karoline must consume the Angel grace, then Catherine will draw power from her to open the cage, and then finally I drain every ounce of blood from your body, into the cage."
Alayna's eyes darted passed Lucifer to her sister who was standing behind her with sad eyes on the dead Angel. She was wearing a beautiful Lilac dress that danced gently in the wind, the same as her now dry curls. "Karoline."
The Sun was bright overhead, shining down onto the cemetery floor and giving it a yellow glow. Lucifer took her arm and put her into the circle that Elijah once was in after ridding of the body. "What are you thinking about, Candy?" He asked her and she looked up to see him staring at her.
She scoffed, "what do you think."
He nodded. "Yes, it's a bit tragic isn't it?" He murmured, trying not to sound unconcerned, but she still heard it and narrowed her eyes. "The heroic, idiotic Angel whose efforts were in vain."
"He was saving Alayna from you." She snapped at him. "He was trying to save me." Lucifer heard her anger change into sorrow. "He got killed because of me." He looked down at her, trying not to get lost in the way her eyes were sparkling in the sunlight. He was losing the battle of will power as a single tear slid down her cheek, glistening pale on her face.
Lucifer shook his head to clear it. "He got hurt trying to stop me. I have waited far too long for this to be stopped by an over-arrogant Angel."
Karoline shook her head and her eyes found her sisters passed him. Her eyes softened, only to harden as she looked at him, "just let her go. You want to prove to me that you're not the monster everyone makes you out to be..." She challenged, and he worked to keep a stoic look in his eyes as he was reminded of there dream talk. "Let her go."
