"Right out the door with Crowley." Sam was saying as Alayna put away her dishes from dinner. Karoline had been out all day, and it was starting to worry her. But, she trusted her sister. She wouldn't do anything stupid.

"Well, Sam..." She trailed off with a sigh, shifting her phone to her other ear as she turned and leaned back against the counter. "I agree, this whole thing is crazy, but... I don't know. After a year of chasing nothing, maybe we need to go a little crazy."

"Yeah, maybe," he scoffed and she frowned. She wished she could be there for it, but she knew there was no way she could've convinced them to take her along. "Hey, Alayna?" Sam's voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"Uh... Remember that time your Dad was possessed?" he asked, hesitance in his voice.

Alayna snorted at that, "kinda hard to forget."

"When Meg told him to kill Dean, he didn't," Sam reminded her and she frowned. Why was he talking about this again. "He took his body back."

"Yeah, long enough to stab himself, why?"

Sam sighed heavily through the phone, "Well, how do you think he did it? I mean, how'd he take back the wheel?"

Now she was really worried about where this conversation was going. "Why are you asking, Sam?"

She heard the sound of liquid sloshing, like he'd taken a sip from something. "Say we can open the cage. Great. But then what? W-we just lead the devil to the edge and get him to jump in?"

Alayna shrugged even though he couldn't see her, "You got me."

"What if..." he hesitated. "What if you guys lead the devil to the edge and I jump in?"

What he was saying hit her all at once and she actually had to take a moment to take it all in, "Sam..."

"It'd be just like when Tom turned the knife around on himself. One action -- just one leap."

"No, no!" She cut him off, let out a huff of air. What made him even think that was okay? That, that was an option.

"Alayna..."

"We need to stop doing this Sam. We're all so quick to sacrifice ourselves and it just keeps circling and it's not getting us anywhere."

"It's not like that," Sam said quickly and Alayna sucked in a sharp breath through her nose. "I'm not gonna do it. Not unless we all agree. But I think we got to look at our options."

"This isn't an option." She said quickly, a note of finality in her breath.

"Why not?" He challenged.

"Because you can't do it," she admitted in a tired voice. She shook her head, that was all there was to it. "My Dad. What he did was a one in a million against some Demon. You're talking about taking control back from Satan himself."

"Yeah. Yeah, I am." Sam agreed with an air of confidence in his tone.

"It's call possession for a reason Sammy," she muttered. "Trust me, I know."

"I'm strong enough." He insisted.

"I'm sorry Sam, but you're not," She could barely hear herself as she said it. She was always there to support him, but this... it was just too big. She couldn't support him in this. "He will find every weakness you have and use it against you. How are you gonna control the Devil if you can't control yourself?" She challenged, her eyebrows shooting up.
