• Prepare yourselves.
No matter how much they said that they loved me, I know that they really didn't. It was always my baby brother. Oh, Vic did this, Vic did that, blah, blah, blah. I'm sick of it. Nobody celebrates for what I've done. Oh, Valory won her dance competition? That's nothing special, anyone can dance. Oh, Valory passed her science test, bringing her grade up? Anyone can do that.
I hate it. Vic gets it all. More presents, more food, more love. It wasn't always like that, no. Once upon a time, I was showered in love. Then, Vic came along. My first instinct was to kill that little squirming thing you call a baby but, I couldn't bring myself to do it. So, I stopped trying.
Today, I sit on the porch watching Vic play out in the yard. I glare at the nine year old boy with distaste. I stand and beckon the child inside for dinner. The setting sun caught the dust moats floating about the living room.
"What's for dinner? I'm hungry." Vic whines.
"I don't know. Go ask Mom." I reply.
"No, I don't want to. Can you make me dinner?"
"No, you ungrateful child! Make it yourself if you're so hungry."
"Fine! I will. You're an awful sister by the way."
I glare at Vic as he walks into the kitchen. God, the urge to snap his neck is strong. I make it the rest of the night. Avoiding conversations with my family and what not. I go to bed and stare up at the ceiling. I don't want to deal with these people that you call my family anymore. So, what do I do?
A plan comes together in the dead of night. I rise from beyond the sheets and blindly stumble through the dark halls. I make it to the garage and turn the light on. Where oh, where could the axe be? The bright red of the axe gleams brightly at me when I find it. I grin and pick it up.
I lurk in the shadows of my parents room, my eye twitching. I breathe in the smell of copper. Blood. Vic's blood to be precise. It's splattered all over my white nightgown. My dark hair hangs limply around my face as I stare at my sleeping parents. A small giggle escapes my lips as I slowly make my way towards my dad's side of the bed. Take the strongest out first.
Another giggle escapes as I raise the bloody axe above my head and bring it down on my dad's face. The axe sinks into his face, making a squelching sound. I raise the axe again, bringing it down again. Again and again and again. Fifty times I raise that axe and bring it down again on my unloving father.
A cackle rips from my throat as I walk around the bed and go to my mom's side. She stirs as I cackle louder. This is great! Why didn't I do this before? My mom's eyes flutter open. I raise the axe.
"Valory," She gasps and turns towards my father's mangled body; she screams. "Valory!"
"Bye, bye." I whisper.
The fear is prominent in her blue eyes that I didn't inherit from her. I will the axe to come down. It obeys and lands, burying itself in her neck. I give her sixty whacks. I double over in laughter. Dragging myself to the bathroom, I put the axe on the wall and turn the water on.
I get in, nightgown and all. Small bursts of giggles escape my lips as I rock myself in the water. It sloshes over the side, making similar sounds of those when the axe made contact with the human flesh.
"Ring around the rosie," A door bangs open down stairs. "Pockets full of posie," Loud footsteps pound down the hallway. "Ashes, ashes, we all fall down." I finish the song as the bathroom door opens and in charge the police.
They aim their guns at me. I cackle for what seems the millionth time tonight. Why guns? They kill to quickly. If you were to kill someone that you hated, wouldn't you want to see them suffer? I giggle at the thought.
"Valory Vence, you are under arrest." One officer says.
I grin at the officers. Poor, poor future inmates. If they don't love me when I get there, they won't know what hit them.
