I turn and spray the never ending flowers of my ginormous garden. It's my pride an soul. This garden is my life. A smile passes over my face as I water the last section of the one acre garden. I turn off the water and wipe the sweat off of my brow. Gardening is hard but is so worth it.

I turn around and begin my trek back to the house, winding up the hose as I go. The midday sun beats down on my back, making sweat soak my shirt through. I squirm at the foreign feeling. You see, I usually water and tend the garden at night but, the night is becoming more and more dangerous as the weeks go by.

Stomping up the steps, I turn and look over my thriving garden. Poppy flowers and Columbines take up about a quarter of the acre since they are my favorite flowers. Forget Me Nots take up a small amount too. Then you have your basics, Roses, Daisies, Babies Breath, Artemisia, Black Eyed Susans', Hydrangeas, and more. Fruits and vegetables takes up another quarter and trees fend for themselves towards the back.

Isn't magnificent? I built it all myself years ago, just as I got out of high school. I only wanted it to be a small section of land. You know, as a stress reliever. But then the people who lived behind us demolished their house and sold the land. I bought it and didn't notice that I kept on gardening until I noticed my walks back to the house were longer.

From then, I kept expanding until I ran out of land. A lot for a college student, right? Honestly, it puts my mind at ease. My mind is a scary place. I don't like to dwell in there for too long.

I let out a sigh of content and spin on my heel and walk inside. I welcome the AC and make my way to the bathroom. I draw the water and peel my soaked clothes off. I tie my hair up off my neck at slip into the semi-warm water. I let out a breath and slowly massage my aching legs and arms.

Turning my head, I look out the window to watch the bees pollinate my fabulous garden. Birds sing and butterflies. i smile and close my eyes. One more day of gardening done.

I wake up to a bright light shining in my face. I sit up and look around. A woman sits in the chair beside the bed i lay on. She looks at me and gets up. I watch as she checks the IV in my arm (which I didn't notice until now), she records my heartbeat and other medical procedures. I frown.

Wasn't I just in my bathtub? How did I get to the hospital? The nurse stops at the end of my bed and stick the clip board in the basket that hangs off the end. A small smile forms on her lips.

"Your heartbeat was calm while you slept," she says in a soft voice. "It was peculiar. You must have had a good dream then."

The nurse turns to go but I call out. She turns back around and tilts her head, making her bright red hair fall in her face.

"Where's my garden? What happened to my garden?" I ask.

    She sighs.

"The doctor was right, you do suffer from amnesia. Don't you remember? The world is ending. Your garden is gone along with your house and everyone else's houses on Earth. You're lucky we found you before you jumped off a cliff. You must've just been dreaming about your garden. I'm sorry, miss." She bows her head and walks out.

I frown again. Leaning over, I pull back the blinds. A gasp escapes my throat as my eyes roam over the burnt land. I flop back on the cot, defeated. So that's it, my garden is really gone.
