You make him pretend to be your boyfriend because you lied to your parents and told them you had one. Luckily your best guy friend; Jongdae, is at your house.

"Pass me the chips." You told Jongdae who was currently sitting next to you on the couch watching a comedy.
"It's literally right in front of you y/n just reach for it." He told you while stuffing his face with popcorn which he wouldn't share.
You groaned jokingly, "You're so annoying sometimes."
"Yeah yeah so are you. Love you."
You reach for the chips and ate some. Suddenly you heard a muffled ring like sound coming from somewhere.
"Jongdae, I think your phone is ringing."
"It's not mine look." He reaches for his phone from his back pocket and you could see it wasn't his. You ran towards your bag and picked up your phone.
"Ah it's my mum!" You then answered your phone.
"Hello? Mum?"
"Hi love, would you mind letting me and your father in, the fenced gate at the entrance is locked right now."
You looked at Jongdae with wide eyes and he whispered a soft 'what?'
"Yeah don't worry mum I'll open it up for you." Just then you hanged up and tossed your phone on the couch while opening up the gated door with a simple button.
"My parents are here hurry up."
"Really? And what do you want me to do about it?"
"Well for instance, stand up from your lazy bum and secondly help me clean up." You told him while picking up the cushions from the floor and throwing them to Jongdae so he could place them nicely on your couch. You then picked up all the plates with food on them and rapidly set them in the sink then grabbed your air freshener and sprayed that all around.
"Relax y/n it's just your parents." Jongdae told you.
"Yeah exactly, but they're here for a reason. My parents aren't the kind who just come to visit, they need a reason. Plus you out of all people should know that."
You started thinking as to what the reason could be and that's when it hit you. Last time your family got together they asked why you haven't married yet. They thought it was weird for you to be one of the oldest ones in the family and still not have a significant other. You set your thoughts aside and loudly yelled,
"Crap!"
"Geez you scared me! What is it?" Jongdae looked at you clutching his heart while letting go of the items he was helping you put away.
"I know why they're here. How much do you want to bet they're here to see if I have a boyfriend."
"You're kidding." He looked at you with an unamused face.
"No no I'm serious. Please pretend to be my boyfriend Jongdae." You pleaded to your friend.
"No way!"
"Please please please they could be here any second."
"No you're on your own kid."
"Gosh I'll do anything."
"Anything?" He said raising one eyebrow.
"Yes!"
"Could you cook for me?"
"Seriously that's what you want?"
"Yeah." He told you sincerely.
"Ok sure." You said sighing with relief thinking his request could have been worse.
A loud knock was echoed through your apartment.
"That's them." You told Jongdae.
"No kidding, who else could it be dummy." He said while giving you a funny face.
You gave him your best 'annoyed' face and walked to the door.
Another knock was heard louder than the last and you yelled, "One second! I'm coming!"
"Go fix your hair at least." You turned to Jongdae.
Jongdae shook his head trying to mess with you testing your patience.
"Go!" You whispered loudly.
He rolled his eyes and smiled, "Fine."
You walked to your door and opened it seeing both of parents breathing heavily.
"Hello." You greeted giving them your best smile while letting them in.
They both walked in and took a seat. Your mum then spoke up, "Why do you have to live on the third floor y/n, it's a long way up and the elevator is broken."
"Oh yeah they still haven't fixed it. Would you like some water?"
"I'll have one darling." Your father told you accepting your offer.
You got your father some water and for your mother as well just incase.
"Thank you." Your father told you and you simply gave him a nod.
"Y/n I thought I heard you talking to someone, I could have sworn someone was in here with you."
"Uh yeah it was Jongdae." You admitted.
"Jongdae? As in the kid you would always play with back in primary school?" Your mum asked.
"That would be him yes."
"Well what a surprise it is to see you again love." You saw your mother lean sideways to see who was behind you and so you turned as well and saw Jongdae standing there with his hair nicely fixed and his shirt buttoned up.
"Ms. Y/l/n, it's great to see you again after so long." Jongdae greeted your mother.
"And you as well Mr. y/l/n."
"Well look at you all grown up." Your dad looked at Jongdae from head to toe.
"Indeed all grown up and very handsome as well." Your mum added.
"Oh gosh mum don't start with that." You complained.
"Don't be rude to your mum and let her speak her mind. Plus she only speaks truth." Jongdae told you taking a seat next to you on the couch.
Both of your parents smiled and then your mum spoke up again curious about you two, "By any chance, are you both dating?"
You looked down to your thighs feeling guilty about lying to your parents but that was when Jongdae spoke up for the both of you, "Actually we are, kind of hard to believe right?" He joked.
Your father gave you a look to see what you had to say, "Is that true y/n?"
"Yeah we've been together for a while now.. surprise!" You told him and laughed.
"A wonderful surprise darling!" Your mother told you. "I always had a feeling you'd both be great for one another."
"Really?" Jongdae asked surprised then added, "I can see why you think that Ms. y/l/n. We both understand each other well, we get along perfectly fine and she's great I mean just look at this face." He then puts his hand under your chin and goes to pinch your cheeks.
Your parents laughed at the sight in front of them and quickly whispered something amongst themselves and you took the opportunity to give Jongdae an unamused glare.
You stood up from your seat and offered your parents to stay over for dinner.
"Actually sweetheart, that sounds great but I wanted to take the opportunity to take your mother to the well known restaurant everyone is talking about now. It's the one about two blocks away I believe." Your father explained.
You quietly gave them an "Ok."
Your parents stood up from their seats and Jongdae grabbed you from the waist walking your parents out the door with you in his grip. They left but not before giving you a hug and a kiss goodbye and the same treatment was given to Jongdae.
"Well that was something now wasn't it." You thought out loud while removing Jongdae's arm from around your waist. "You can let go now."
"Right sorry." He chuckled. "I should probably head out too."
"What about the food I promised you." You told him seeing him grab a hold of your doorknob.
"Don't worry about that, it was actually kind of fun pretending anyway."
"Ok well maybe next time-" you kept talking but then Jongdae interrupted you.
"Maybe it'd be more fun if it wasn't pretend." After he said that your eyes went wide and he instantly regretted it thinking you thought it was a horrible idea.
"What? Are you serious?"
"Yeah I mean how bad can it be kid.. maybe you can just forget about it." He said going back to his normal annoying self. "I'll see you later."
And with that he said goodbye after messing with your hair. The whole walk home his thoughts were tormented with 'what if's' and how he should have braved up and seriously asked you out instead of making it into a joke. Little did he know, you felt the same way too.
