My mom invited Jasmine to a birthday party for my aunt, Anne. She highly rooted for me and Jasmine. It sucked I had to tell her that I wasn't with Jasmine anymore. I didn't even know if she would come. But I hoped she would.
I was passing out plates for cake when everyone stopped talking and started welcoming someone. I looked over and seen Alex, my head ached. I dated this girl back in high school. I broke it off with her because she wanted to be in that cool crowd. I wasn't at all a cool kid, I was just me, the nerdy social media kid. She smiled at me and I just nodded to her.
"Where's the girlfriend?" She asked. I set the plates down and walked away.
Before we all ate cake, everyone started greeting someone else. I stood up and I saw Jasmine at the door hugging my mom. I smiled and calmly walked over. She smiled as I embraced her. "I'm happy you came." I greeted. She laughed, "Would hate to see Anne sad on her birthday." I chuckled, "You don't have to pretend we're dating Jas..."
She shook her head and laughed, "I want to." I smiled and kissed her forehead, "My girl."
"Take these cupcakes." My mom insisted. I laughed, handing one to Jasmine while taking a big bite of mine.
"Oh my gosh, Cam, you have cream on your top lip." Jasmine laughed. I brought my hand to my face and attempted to wipe it but before I could, Jasmine brought me in for a kiss. I didn't expect it, but I wasn't mad. I missed her lips, and the feel of her waist while I pulled her closer.
We pulled apart and she blushed at me. I couldn't stop smiling.
"How would Sam feel about that?" I asked. She sighed, "He'd be mad." I chuckled, "You're crazy."
"Always am." She laughed.
