I was headed to Cameron's mom's house with him, they knew we had broken up but his mom invited me to a small cookout with just close family so I said I'd attend. Gina (his mom) was always so sweet to me and she didn't mind that we weren't together.

Cameron stopped at a red light then looked over at me. I looked at him and laughed, "What?" He smiled, "You're so beautiful. How? I feel I need to bow down to your presence." I shook my head, "You exaggerate so much." He smiled at me then looks back at the road, "Maybe but that doesn't make anything I just said less true."

I blushed.

As we begin our drive he points out, "Whoa check out that red car." I look over, "That's garnet." He eyes me, "That's what?"

"Garnet," I say, "The color is garnet."

He rolled his eyes, "Garnet? Really? That's red." I laugh at him, "Cam, don't argue with me about colors." He pouts, "I'm saying red. If I walked up to that man and said 'Hey I like your garnet car' he'd slap the fuck out of me." I laughed, "No he would not."

He pulls over, "Wanna bet?"

"Yes."

We both get out and walk over and Cameron stops before the man. I press my hand to my mouth to cover a laugh because of their height difference.

"Sir, me and my wife wanted to tell you that you have a lovely garnet car." Cameron states. The man smiles widely, "Thank you so much. I picked Garnet, everyone keeps calling it red, I'll probably punch the next person who comes up to me and says red." Cameron eyes him and nods nervously, "Ah yeah... amateurs.."

The man extends his hand, "Thank you for making my day kid." Cameron takes it and nods, "No problem." I wave bye and we turn back to our car. Soon as we're at a distance Cameron whispers, "I think I just shit my pants." I laugh loudly, "Oh my fucking god."

"He would have taken my head off." He breathes out as we get into the car.

"Definitely," I laugh again.

Once we arrived Gina greeted us with open arms, "Oh how I missed my favorite people!" Sierra, Cam's sister scoffed, "Oh thanks mother." We all laughed. I hugged Gina then Sierra and waved to Sierra's boyfriend Brent.

I sat down and Cameron tapped my shoulder, "Come with me real fast." I nodded and stood up.

We walked to his old bedroom and I looked around, "What's up?" He closed the door behind me then smirked a bit, I tilted my head. He moved closer and I knew what he was hinting at.

"Really? Here?" I laughed. "You and Sam dating?" He asked. I shook my head. He smiled placing his hand on my lower waist, pulling me a bit closer, "You wouldn't necessarily be cheating." I sucked in a breath then exhaled, his hand trailed to my lower back. All I could respond with was "Hmm". His voice trailed off as he switched our position so I was against the wall.

We were inches away but before he could kiss me, someone knocked on his door. He chuckled a bit as his moms voice called his name through the door.

"Yeah we're coming." He laughed. I faceplam and place my hands to my cheeks since they were heated. "Maybe some other time." He smiled. I nodded and we walked back out to the family room.

His cousin walked up, he was about 7 and he took Cam's hand as they walked to the table. I followed and sat down. The small girl who was about 10 smiled at me, she played with her chapstick and I smiled. "Dare you to eat that." Cameron says. I eye him, as he takes the Chapstick whirling it all the way up for the small boy.

"How much?" The boy smirks.

"Two dollars." Cameron laughs.

The boy takes the chapstick and breaks off a piece, he places it in his mouth and I cringe. Cameron laughs and pulls out his phone to record. The girl pipes up, "Me too!" She places a piece in her mouth bitting down.

"Oh god

"Oh god." I laugh. Cameron laughs more, "I'll give you guys five dollars and you both get two dollars and fifty cents."

I shake my head and watch over Cameron as he continues talking to the kids. Gina calls for me so I get up and walk to the kitchen.

"How have you been?" She smiles. "I've been good, school is slow but I'm doing it." I smiled. She was cutting avocados and she nodded, "So good to hear, still putting up with my son I see."

"I'm pretty sure I'll always be putting up with him." I chuckled.

"I like knowing you two will always be in each other's life." She smiled. "So do I." I laughed.
