Karma's POV

Everyone is the same.

My violent behavior always frightened everyone, even adults. My sadistic actions started to cause fear towards other people.

Even when I was in kindergarten, kids would be too afraid to come close to me.

"Akabane is scary..."

"Let's stay away from him..."

"I don't want to play with him, either!"

"He hit Yusuke-kun yesterday... He's scary!!"

Elementary was the same.

Everyone would form groups, leaving me behind. I was forced to be isolated from everyone.

It didn't matter if I was doing it for the good, they would always run away anyway.

"Hey, what's up with that Akabane guy?"

"He always beats people up and threaten others..."

"I tried talking to him, but he was too scary, so I didn't want to be friends with him..."

Rumors began to spread. More people began avoiding me.

That's when I realized, "There's no point in trying, everyone is the same."

My parents were often out of town, leaving me all alone in my house.

I would always come home with no one to say "I'm back" to. Silence would fill the room every time.

I would pass the time by studying, making me the top of the class every time.

I would often wake up to find some microwavable food on the table. It was then I started to learn how to cook. It was better than some cheap store-bought bento.

I remember being at home alone at home during my birthday. My parents only sent me a message wishing me happy birthday, which gave me a little amount of happiness.

Lighting up the candle on the small cupcake I bought myself on the table, I whispered to myself, "Happy birthday, me."

Middle school came along, and I didn't expect much. Except for maybe new toys to play with.

The teacher I trusted the most scolded me for standing up for an E-class student. That only brought down my expectations even more.

At that point, I didn't care that I was suspended and shipped off to Class E.

But then, that was when she came along.

I didn't know that one sentence could change my whole life.

"Whoa, there's a new Sonic Ninja movie!? Let's go watch it, Shiota!"

At first, I thought Nagisa would leave just like everyone else.

She was different.

She didn't leave.

Nagisa wasn't fazed at all by my violent behavior.

"Should we take them to the nurse?"

She would often say that.

"Wow, you're so strong, Karma-kun!"

"I envy you, Karma-kun..."

"Karma-kun, want to walk home together later?"

"You really are talented."

She was my first friend that I had.

We had a lot of memories together, both good and bad.

After not seeing each other for one year, we met again in Class E.

I was thankful that I was sent to Class E, actually. I got to meet Nagisa again. Then Korosensei came.

After hanging out with her again, I started to develop romantic feelings for her.

Even though I kept denying it.

"Karma-kun, I like you."

Those words I thought I would never hear from her. Nagisa accepted me for who I am.

"Me too."

Each day, she never fails to make me smile.

She lit up the dark everyday lifestyle I was living in. She brought color to my dull and monochrome world.

I know it sounds cheesy, but it's true.

"Let's go, Karma."

"Karma, don't tease me!"

"Geez, Karma..."

Her smile brings me strength.

She gave me a reason to live on.

Nagisa is... my light.

She showed me the way when I was lost in a dark tunnel. She was the light at the end.

Nagisa stayed by my side.

"I love you..."

And I don't plan on leaving hers.

Huh. That ended up really angsty...

...Sorry, did I ruin the mood?

I hope you've enjoyed this somewhat random and sudden special chapter! Would you like a Nagisa version? If you want it, I would glady make it.

Also,

I'm so sad that Hidden Truths was recently discontinued. T^T It was the authors choice though, so I can respect that. But still. ;-;

If you don't remember, Hidden Truths was the fanfic I mentioned a few chapters back.

See you in the next chapter~
