Chapter 52: War Rages On

Nagisa was in the gymnasium, practicing basketball with her class. They were gonna compete with other classes next PE lesson.

It was their decision to practice after school. They put much dedication than they normally would, since Fujisaki-sensei said that she would give a leak on the upcoming trip if they won.

Being the curious class 2-3 was, they already knew that they had to win the match, even though it was only for practice.

"Pass, pass!"

"Got it!"

"Takasaki-kun! Behind, behind!"

Nagisa knew, communication is vital in basketball. That's why she's trying to get used to communicating with her class while playing.

They played for a few minutes before taking a break.

The bluenette sighed as she walked to her friends who were taking a break.

"Nice job, Nagsia-chan!" Arisa greeted her with a smile and a thumbs up.

"Thanks!" Nagisa returned her smile.

The short girl beside her let out a big sigh as she sat down. "Haah..." Hitomi drank some water from a bottle. "This sport is way out of my league!! It's basically mocking my height whenever I'm blocking someone." She pouted.

Nakano laughed. "You'll get it someday, Reimu."

Shiriashi smiled at her. "Y-yeah! I'm sure you can do it."

"Thanks, guys..." Hitomi sighed. "Alright! I'm gonna keep practicing!"

She stood up, feeling pumped up from her friends' encouragement. "Nagisa-chan! Could you teach me how to shoot from behind the three point line?"

Nagisa smiled, "Not that I'm any good at it, but... Okay. Let's go! "

"I won't accept any lies!"

The two of them grabbed a basketball and started practicing.

Arisa, Chiyuki, and Nakano who were sitting down watched the two attempt to shoot the ball from a quite far of a distance.

Some of the girls joined them, hoping to improve their shooting skills, too.

"Heeh~ You guys are working really hard, huh?" The three of the girls jumped from the sudden voice.

"Akabane-kun!?" Arisa stammered, looking at the boy who was suddenly beside her. "Since when were you here!?"

Karma gave her a smile, "About a minute ago."

"...Nevermind that, how did you get past the school gates?" Nakano sweat dropped at the boy.

"I have my ways." The red-head tilted his head at her with a smile.

Chiyuki shivered. "That doesn't sound too reassuring..."

As the girls continued their talk about how Karma managed to go into their school and gym, Yamaguchi and his friends sat across them at the other side.

"Hey, hey! Look at me!" Shougo was spinning a basketball on his finger. "Isn't this what all the guys do in animes?"

Nanashima glanced at him. "What differs you from them is that they actually look cool while doing it. With all the poses and stuff..."

"Hey!!"

Igarashi looked at Sasahara. "Don't mind them."

Sasahara looked at the two boys who were now ranting about bishounens in basketball animes. "Don't worry about it..." He sweat dropped.
