Chapter Eight
[Enna's POV]
"Ma'am sale po 'yan," said the sales lady when I took one of the lipsticks sa make up compartment nila.
"Talaga?"
"Opo. Twenty-five percent. From two five, one eight seventy-five nalang," she gave me a courteous smile. "We have tester para makita po ninyo if babagay yung shade sa skin tone niyo."
"No it's okay. Actually I've been using this shade for a while na," I smiled at her. "Can I take it out? Ipapakita ko lang 'to sa hubby ko," I glanced outside of the store where Mikho was. Ayaw kasi niyang pumasok. I told him na may titingnan lang ako and he just nodded and insisted na doon nalang siya maghihintay sa labas.
"Sure Ma'am," she answered after peeking at my hottie hubby outside the glass door.
"Thanks!"
He was just standing and he seems like in deep deep thoughts. Our eyes locked and I bit my bottom lip to hold my gasp. I'm still not used to him looking at me like this. His gaze simply makes my heart churn. I took a deep breath to calm the butterflies in my stomach. Gosh, my hubby's just the epitome of yumminess even with his bruises and cuts on.
"Bakit?" His forehead creased.
Geee! Nakalimutan ko tuloy yung lippie!
I gave him a sweet smile to cover up my embarrassment. " Uhmmmm...C-can I have one of these?" I showed him the runway hit matte lippies na kinuha ko. This had been my most fave MAC lipstick so far. Ang ganda kasi ng shade, pwedeng bumagay sa kahit anong make up.
"Is that necessary?" he asked, his brows furrowing.
Tumango ako." Please? Isa lang naman and it's only a lipstick. I feel so naked without anything on kasi. Parang may kulang sa mukha ko."
"Magkano ba 'yan?" he asked.
"It's cheap. One thousand eight hundred seventy-five nalang!" I excitedly told him.
Biglang umalon ang adam's apple niya. "One eight for a lipstick? Seriously? That's too expensive, Enna."
Napanguso ako. "Cheap na kaya 'to! It's a good brand and a nice shade. Sige na naman! Just this one. Tingnan mo nga yung face ko ngayon? I don't have anything on and sobrang raw ng mukha ko. Feeling ko kitang kita na ang buong kaluluwa ko!" I stomped my foot.
"We're on a tight budget, Enna. Mas importante ang pagkaing kakainin natin ngayong linggo. Iyang isang libong mahigit pwede pa nating pangkunsumo iyan ng ilang araw. Mag go-grocery at bibili pa tayo ng gamit para sa apartment. That lipstick can wait," tanggi niya sa matigas na tono.
"Isa lang naman eh," pilit ko.
"Aanhin mo ba kasi 'yan? You look better without lipstick or any make-up on. I don't understand why you still have to taint your face."
I wanted to smile kasi first time kong marinig ang complement niya for me but I can't. I know that I'm pretty pero it's not a good excuse na hindi na ako pwedeng gumamit ng lipstick or make up.
Napalabi ako."Hindi mo maintindihan because you're a guy. We girls use make up because we want to feel good of ourselves. It makes us feel good. Tsaka make up gives us an uplifting mood because of its different shade of colors. Color does that to anyone, diba? It makes us happy. Nakakatuwa kaya 'pag nakakakita ka ng ibang kulay. Parang life lang din 'yan. Masaya 'pag makulay. Boring kaya yung walang color," rason ko.
