Snow's POV

I inspected the necklace further, turning it over in my hands. After a while of inspection, I decided it was more of an amulet than a necklace. The pendant of the amulet was beautiful to the touch, yet I couldn't quite make out the full picture very well. It was bounded together by a piece of stunning green ribbon, frayed slightly but the colour had not faded at all. I turned my attention back to the pendant, and placed it down on the dark oak floor before shining my phone torch back on it. After a while, my vision adjusted and I could make out the image. It was stunning. It was shaped like a wolf, ready to pounce. It was decorated with many, glistening green gems, which looked delicate and expensive...why had someone left it here?

With a swift but gentle movement, I picked it up, taking a piece of ribbon from each side, and tied it around my neck

With a swift but gentle movement, I picked it up, taking a piece of ribbon from each side, and tied it around my neck. It sat perfectly on top of my own pendant which was used to enhance my power and not allow me to loose control. My own amulet was a purple crystal, amethyst I think, and it curled itself around my neck.

I was bonded to my amulet, meaning only I could use its power, however that didn't mean someone else couldn't break it

I was bonded to my amulet, meaning only I could use its power, however that didn't mean someone else couldn't break it. But why was this amulet here? Surely it had a bond with someone else? Maybe the person who lived here before...? But then that would mean...

I shook off the feeling and scrambled to my feet, brushing the dust off my legs and arms. I had spent too much time here already and I still had downstairs to check. Speeding up, I trotted down the hallway and climbed back down the stairs until I was, once again, standing in the old but grand lobby. I crossed over to the other side, the most important place to check was the kitchen, and then once everyone was inside I would go and check the rest, along with all the boarded up rooms. I pulled off the planks of soggy wood which blocked the kitchen and dinning room off. Thankfully they were weak and I could pull them away by hand. I scented the air, listening and watching for any movement or signs of life. Everything seemed clear, so I stepped cautiously inside.
