Truths Desire ~ Emerald Lodge (Aphmau fanfic with inserted characters)

A hard choice

*Snows POV*

I grabbed onto Sylvanna as she pushed herself towards the stairs. Eric and Sylvanna were angry for Aphmau being left in the dark, but they didn't understand.

I forced my way in front of them and held out my arms. "Stop it!" I yelled to them, but they pushed on none the less. I wasn't ready to give in. I pushed them back down, slapping their shoulders with my arms if they refused my move. "Would you two stop it! Can't you see what you are doing to Aph?!" That made them shut up and look.

Garroth had placed Rosie down onto the floor and was now hugging Aphmau. She was in fits of tears, hardly being able to speak when Garroth asked her something to try and calm her down.

When Sylvanna turned back to me, she looked furious. "They have kept her in the dark about Aaron for a week! Let me give them a piece of my mind! I HAVE MY CHUNCLA!" I pushed her back down as she forced her way up. "I can't do that." I growled, "I have been keeping Aphmau up to date on Aaron's condition for the last week, and trust me, if I could let Aphmau in to see him, I would. But I can't, and you have to understand that it is for her own safety and yours aswell. Now if you could both please calm down, I will get Aaron's parents who you can talk this through with. Just sit down and shut up until I'm back."

I turned to leave them and climb the stairs but I saw Malissa standing at the top. "Oh Malissa... how long have you been standing there?" She shrugged and turned away slightly, hiding her face. "Long enough to hear what was happened. Thank you for that Snow... but can we have you and Aphmau up here. Aphmau please don't go near Aaron... his eyes... he isn't in his right mind. He is awake but not in control of himself."

I walked into the room and Aphmau followed close behind. The room was sombre and serious. It made me uncomfortable but I could deal with it for a moment. Aaron's parents and Malissa stood on one side of the bed, talking quietly between themselves. I stuck close in front of Aphmau and watched the doctors as they worked. The room was practically silent apart from the light whispering. Then Aaron's Dad spoke up.

"Aphmau... for the length of Aaron's life, I have tried to keep you two apart, however he always finds a way to get to you. This.. event, has shown me that for all those years, I was wrong. While trying to keep Aaron in control of his ultima side, I have just caused him to be more out of control. But you... Aaron doesn't want to hurt you.. at the sound of your voice he feels safer and.. closer to anyone than he ever did before. And Snow, you didn't know Aaron for long, but you still hung your life on the line for him, you saved him with not a thought for yourself." He was silent for a moment. Then he continued, "But Aaron isn't himself. This event has caused him to loose even more control trying to save you, Aphmau. And with the rumour going around that ultimas are real, Aaron is not safe. That is why we are going to take him back to our home town of Falcon Claw, we have a safe house there where he can recover."

Tears crept into Aphmaus eyes as she nodded. "How long will he need?" Aaron's Dad sighed. "The process will take about a year to be fully complete. He has broken bones and because of the recent events, he will be more aware and his form will be less easy to control at first." Aphmau's eyes widened and she shook her head. "I can't. I can't take that long. Please. Just let me come with him."

I sighed, Aphmau was loosing all hope and this was the final straw. Aaron's Dad shook his head. "I'm sorry but that isn't possible. How would Aaron feel if he turned you when he wasn't in his right mind? It would tear him apart." He took a deep breath then continued. "Aaron came here to earn money to take you to starlight wonderland. If you do this for Aaron, I promise, that is were you will meet again in a year. Please, for Aaron's sake." I took Aphs hand and turned her to me. Tears swept down her face as she looked into my eyes. I hugged her close to me and whispered into her ear. "Aaron needs this, and you do too. After everything you have been through, nothing can break you apart, but you need time to heal and be yourself again."

Aphmau cling onto my for a while before stepping away and nodding faintly. "O-okay..." Aaron's Dad looked greatfully towards me then turned to look at Aaron. "Aaron is stable for now, let's leave him be. Aphmau you may say goodbye to him, he is fine for now. Everyone except Aphmau, please may you leave."

I waited for the others to leave before turning back to Aphmau. "This is for the best, I promise." Then I turned and walked out the door. Garroth stood at the bottom of the stairs, Rosie in his arms. "What's happening?" He said, I confused look on his face.

I sighed and walked down to him. "We are going home..." I said, emotion failing to enter my voice. "But... Aaron?" I sighed again. "He isn't coming..."
