*Misteria's POV*
I paced back and forth while the others sat and disgusted what we needed to do. They ran every reasonable option through their heads, but there was no reasonable way to go about it. We were powerless and clueless.
"So what do we do?" Said Kim, major uncertainty running through her voice. For a girl as shy as her, she was standing her ground pretty well. Garroth was the next to speak, ignoring all the reasonable options that had been said which would have failed anyway. "I don't care how we go about it, but I need to get Snow back." Aaron nodded, his head lowered as if he was deep in thought. "I agree, Aphmau is there too, along with Zane and Lucinda. We are going to just roll with it. We don't know enough to make a secure plan. Misty, can you fix up some spells for a backup?" At the sound of my name, I raised my head and nodded, pausing my endless pacing circle. "Yeah, I agree. I know a few spells I can try but we need to get up there as soon as possible."
And that was that. The next half hour was spent figuring out were they had gone, and that really wasn't an easy task. It took a while but we soon realise that there was an old cabin up on a cliff top in the mountains, and we guessed that was where they were. I hope you have a plan Ryan, because I swear to god I'm going to rip you apart.
*Snows POV*
I sat down on the chair and allowed Aphmau to brush through my wet hair. I had showered and changed into a beautiful red dress. Aphmau was dressed in the same dress but hers was coloured blue.
I could feel the brush untangling my hair and soothing my scalp. I had spent so much time worrying over the time I had been here that it was nice to just sit back and let Aphmau help me relax. Her fiancé was my alpha, and Ryan was my boyfriend so we got to hang out a lot. Then of course we had Zane and Lucinda who were around some of the time if they weren't doing things for Alpha and Ryan. I'm not actually sure what Alpha's name is, since he doesn't say, but I'm sure Aph knows.
Once she had finished with my hair, the door swung open, hitting against the wooden wall behind it. Ryan stepped into the room and I ran towards him, wrapping my arms round his shoulders and grinning.
Aphmau looked up and smiled. "Oh Ryan, you're back, how was the mission? A success I suspect. I hope my fiancé isn't too tired, I would like to talk with him." Ryan look over to her and nodded. "He is fine, you can go talk with him now, ill stay here with Snow." And with that she was gone, and I was left alone once again. I dropped my arms and moved over o the mirror, my reflection staring back at me. For a moment, a cold shiver ran down my back, and I could have sworn my eyes faltered and flicked to a different colour, but it was less than a second, so it must have just been my imagination.
*Misteria's POV*
We raced through the woods, Aaron taking the lead, while me, Kim and Garroth followed behind. All the time we ran, I could feel desperation curling itself around him, he did well to hide it, but I could tell he was full of fear, and it was slowing taking its toll on us all.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Aaron stopped, causing my to trip and land face first in the snow. I got to my feet quickly, brushing myself down, ignoring the cold seeping it's way through my thick clothes. Stepping forward, I noticed the reason why Aaron had stopped. In front of him stood a woman, but she didn't seem to be like anyone else I had ever seen. Her hair faded in and out of different colours, mainly focused around ginger and black, but speckled with white and grey. Her hair flowed down her body in thick waves, covering a large amount of her upper body and almost half of her face, leaving on a part of it visible. Her eyes were pleading, coloured with the same emerald green as Zane, Snow and Lucinda. She was speaking so quickly is was hard to understand her, but the fear in her voice was unmistakable. "Aaron, you and your friends must not go any further. He is going to hurt you, don't you see this is what he wants. Snow and Aphmau wouldn't want you to put yourselves in danger for them!"
"What choice do we have?" Said Aaron, trying to push passed but being held back every time. Garroth spoke next, clearly annoyed and worried. "We aren't going to leave them! They mean a lot to us and we will not leave them behind!"
Only then did it really hit me. Her eyes. Her eyes were the same. I stepped forward and whispered to Aaron. "Look at her eyes. She is under the same this as them." Aaron nodded and turned back to her. He grabbed her arm and held her in place, not allowing her to push his question aside. "Tell me who is going to hurt us. And why are our friends being controlled."
She shook her head, almost shaking with fear. "I-I can't, if I do, he will hurt more of my pack." Aaron made his grip tighter, wanting to help but getting more annoyed by the large waste of time. "Please help us. I promise if you help, I will make sure you and your friends are safe. Please do this for us, we have people we care for too."
It took her a moment, but she gave in, raising her head and speaking, her voice only just audible. "A while ago, a man came to visit our cave. The cave was home to me and my pack of wolves-" suddenly Garroth cut her off. "So your a werewolf?" At that she spun to look at him, rage boiling away at her. "No! I was a wolf! A pure bred wolf!" I punched Garroth, trying to shut him up before he said something worse.
"He came uninvited and continued to slaughter my pack one by one. I through myself in front of him, begging that he leave them alone, I would give him anything. In return for there lives, he demanded her become alpha, and of course I agreed. It's the cruelest way to become alpha, be he did it. For a while all was calm, until he started mining the emeralds in our cave. He would pass them onto a man with the eyes of a snake who had joined him and set up a study in one of the smaller passages linked to our cave. The alpha them one day took me to with him to this man with the eyes of a snake, who then proceeded to use me as a test subject for his potions. He turned me into a human using one of them." She looked genuinely angry why telling this story, but I could see why. Aaron then spoke a question we all had. "A potion to turn you into a human. That's why your eyes are green. Are these the same types of potions he used on our friends?" She nodded.
"Yes, they are called forever potions. Once activated, they have a short period of use before they become permanent... the alpha grew so angry when you arrived Aaron, and then Aphmau joined and he went crazy. His beta was no better with Snow... and you..." she pointed at Garroth and he looked shocked. "Me why me?" He said, genuine confusion flooding his voice. "Because he saw how you looked at eachother and it drove him insane... that's why you can't go, they want you to- Ughh!"
Within seconds of her speaking, she was kneeling on the snow covered ground, keeled over in pain. She only lasted a few seconds like that, however once she stood back up, the Emerald colour the potion had put into her eyes was gone, replaced with a beautiful caramel. "Oh no..." she said, sadness flowing over her. "What is it?" I said, stepping towards her. "Once the eyes return to their original colour... the potion effects become... permanent..."
That shook us. Aaron raced forward, pushing passed her and racing towards the cliff which looked ahead of us. Garroth followed closely behind while me and Kim were left standing. I spun round and turned to Kim. "Kim stay with her, you will be more use safe than if we all get hurt!" She nodded and I turned back to where the others had disappeared. Bolting forward, I soon faded away and just allowed my senses to lead me.
