Cold but not dead!

*Ryans POV*

I followed Ein and Aphmau down the slope of the cliff, ever waiting to see Snow and Aaron lying there, dead. I would have liked to control her, I thought to myself, but if I can't have her then no one can. I smirked before picking up the pace and matching strides with Ein.

I gripped a tighter hold of the rope which tied the three children together. I wasn't going to let them escape, not when they could tell everyone the truth. No way were we going to take that risk... we were going to get rid on them the same way Snow and Aaron had gone... but first we have to find that baby!

"So Ein, what will you do once you see Aaron dead?" I said, smirking while doing so. Ein turned his head slightly, a sly smile settling upon his face. "I just want to see the look on his cold, dead face! It will be priceless! And just imagine it! I defeated the ultima werewolf!" I laughed and nodded. I felt the exact same way! We had defeated an ultima werewolf and a white wolf! How famous we would be!

The small female child struggled and thrushes on the end of the rope, so I turned and slapped her across the face. "Stop wriggling you little rat! Keep moving!" I had no patience for these pathetic little pups anymore! We could dispose of them all but until we have located the baby, we need them alive.

The snowy ground levelled out below us was we neared the direct drop from the cliff. As we turned the corner, Ein and Aphmau stopped dead still. I moved up beside them and I was shocked at what I saw.

The once white ground was now patched with red and was compacted in some areas. The dagger Ein had given to Aphmau lay on-top of a pile of snow, covered with blood. However there was no bodies to be seen. Leading away from the area was a set of footprints. Ein growled with fury. "THIS CANT BE! How did they live! You failed me! You idiot!" He turned to Aphmau and slapped her across the face, leaving a dark brownish mark on her face. That's when the sound came from the top of the cliff.

*Snows POV*

We climbed to the top of the cliff as quickly as we could. I was mostly being pulled up by Garroth, Misty and Kim. Aaron stormed on ahead.

I shook away Garroth and Misterias arms as I stared up at Aaron. "Guys I'm going to go and talk with Aaron, he seemed to have a lot on his mind." Misty giggled as I said that. As I turned to her, she looked at me with disbelief. "Seriously Snow? You can hardly walk up this slope without me and Garroth dragging you! How are you possibly going to catch up with Aaron?"

I smirked at her as I shifted into a wolf. It felt so easy now that I had control of myself and I knew how to do it. With all four paws sinking into the snow, I bounced up the slope, gaining on Aaron. As I neared, I slowed into a soft walking pace before shifting back into a human. I couldn't be bothered to take out my ears and tail, so I left them hidden as I walked beside Aaron.

I wanted to comfort him but I had no idea what to say. What I did say was really stupid. "So... how do you feel?" As those words left my mouth I litterally felt like an idiot. How do you feel, he must have been feeling terrible!

Aaron sighed and shrugged slightly. "I just don't know... everything is happening so fast and if I make a mistake... Ein will have Aphmau... forever. I should never have given him alpha!" I looked at him as we walked. He was hurting so much and there was so little I could do. I tried to sound reassuring when I spoke. "You know... everything happens for a reason... maybe this is happening to show you how much Aphmau means to you... maybe you just need to show how far you will go to save her... and your friends... please don't blame yourself-" I didn't finish as I saw Aaron picking up the pace, trying to out walk me. He didn't believe what I was saying, but at least I tried.

I walked along in silence until we reached the top of the cliff. I looked up to see Aaron staring over the edge. I walked over to stand next to him. Below us, were 6 specs which I assumed were people. It was time.

Aaron yelled down to them, the bandana still over his eyes. Raged fill him as he yelled. Everything that had happened was taking its toll, nothing was silent for any longer. "EIN! COME AND FACE ME!" I just stood beside him, my hair being whipped back and forth by the the strong wind. Behind us stood Misty, Garroth and Kim. We were all there, and we were ready.

*Ryans POV*

I looked up to see who I least expected. Aaron and Snow stood on the edge of the cliff. They had survived. "THIS CANT BE! Snow should be dead!" I growled under my breath. Suddenly Zane burst through the clearing.

"BROTHER! Lucinda isn't answering her calling!" Ein snarled and grabbed Aphmau, dragging her towards the trees. "We have to go! Let's get ahead of them! Ryan, take the useless cubs and find the baby!" And then he was gone.

I tugged in the chain and dragged them quickly into the trees, out of sight. Zane split off into another direction and was gone. I turned back to the cubs and growled at the oldest boy. "Where is the baby! Tell me now or the girl dies." Then he broke.
