"Hey! Waiter, over here!"

Hiccup grumbled as he turned to the woman who had called his name. "Yes?" he asked as sweetly as he could.

The woman scowled. "You got my order wrong. I ordered a chocolate milkshake with three and a half cherries and just a little bit of chocolate shavings."

Hiccup flipped through his notepad. "Ah, yes, you're Ms. Carson, correct?"

The lady nodded.

"I'm sorry, but you didn't order a chocolate milkshake with three and a half cherries and just a little bit of chocolate shavings, you ordered a french vanilla milkshake with five and a half cherries and mountain of white chocolate shavings. I believe that I have gotten your oder right, ma'am."

The woman kept on opening and closing her mouth.

Hiccup rolled his eyes and walked off. He sighed as he slipped in behind the counter. Why did I have to choose this for my part time job? he thought angrily. I couldn't have just gone with helping to train dragons at Dad's arena?

The door opened and Hiccup remembered why he chose this job.

Astrid Hofferson. The most beautiful girl at Berk High. She was also the hardest girl to get a date with. Hiccup had had a crush on her since preschool, and had always tried to talk to her, but was pushed away by her friends.

Astrid was a regular at the Berk Dinner and Hiccup longed for a chance to actually take her order.  He watched Astrid sit down and immediately walked over to her.

"Hi, miss, my I take your order?" Hiccup asked as he took out his pen and notepad.

Astrid looked up and smile at Hiccup. "Sure, I would like one vanilla milkshake. With whipped cream and a cherry on top."

After writing the contents of the order down, Hiccup looked up and smiled at Astrid. "Alright, your order should be ready in a jiffy!"

"Okay! Thanks!"

Hiccup smiled brightly as he walked to the back of the dinner to prepare the order. Once he was finished, he heard a scream just before his co-worker, Camicazi came up to him looking stressed.

"What is it, Cami?" Hiccup asked.

Camicazi sighed and put her hand on her forehead. "Phelgma just went into labor, she left you in charge until she can find a replacement for our boss." Hiccup nodded and went to deliver his order, but Camicazi grabbed his arm. "One more thing, since it's just you and me today, I can finish up the last few orders and we can close early, kay?"

"Sure, just let me deliver this order and we can finish up."

Camicazi nodded and grabbed Hiccup's notepad to finish up the orders.

As Hiccup walked back into the diner, he was greeted with confused looks from the patrons.

"Sorry, everybody, our boss had to erm, leave for today, so we're closing early, if you haven't ordered yet, we would appreciate it if you'd leave." Hiccup said as he walked down through the tables to give Astrid her order. There were collective nods from the patrons as a few of them stood up and left. Hiccup gave Astrid her milkshake and sat down across from her.

"Tough day, eh?" she asked as she took a sip from her milkshake.

Hiccup banged his head on the table. "You have no idea."

Astrid snorted and patted Hiccup on the back. "It's alright, at least you don't have to babysit six kids."

Hiccup looked up. "Yeah, I guess."

Astrid laughed and got up. Hiccup looked up at her, confused. Astrid smiled and offered a hand. "C'mon, let me help you close up shop."

Hiccup smiled and got up as well.

After about an hour, the diner was finally ready to be closed. Hiccup smiled and wiped his forehead. "Whew, thanks for helping out, it would've taken forever without you."

Astrid looked over to Hiccup and smiled. "No problem."

Hiccup laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his head. "Hey, Astrid, can I tell you something?"

"Sure, anything."

Hiccup took a deep breath. "Astrid, I like you."

Astrid looked at Hiccup, surprised.

"Ever since the first grade."

Astrid stayed silent as she took Hiccup's hand. "You wanna go out sometime?"

Surprised didn't even come close to what Hiccup was feeling right then.

"YES!" was heard from behind the teens. They turned around to see Camicazi celebrating with her phone out. "Heather's gonna love this!"

The pair looked at each other and laughed.
