"Night, Hiccup."

Hiccup yawned audibly. "Good night, Astrid, talk to you soon, okay?"

"Definitely. Bye."

"Bye."

Hiccup yawned again and pressed the hang up button on his phone. He checked the time. 12:33am.

"Stupid time difference." he muttered under his breath as he climbed into his bed. "Ten years." he said angrily.

Ten years. It had been ten years since the pair had seen each other. Hiccup and Astrid had been best friends when they were younger. When they were ten, Astrid's dad had gotten a new job that moved her family all the way to Europe. The last time they had actually seen each other's faces was when they were fifteen, just before the Haddocks moved to Northern Berk. A small town with horrible service. Now, the pair could hardly ever talk.

Hiccup sighed. He missed his old friend, and truth be told, he had kind of developed a crush on her over the years. A thought popped into his head. He immediately sat up and grabbed his laptop, getting to work right away.

Around five hours later, he heard a knock on his bedroom door. He opened it and saw his twin brother, Toothless staring back at him with bags under his eyes.

"You...Do not know how to shut your face hole." he panted.

Hiccup smiled sheepishly. Sorry, bud, I'm just, working on...stuff."

"Is it for Aaaaaaaaaaaaastrid?" Toothless asked, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

"No. It's for Mr. Piggywinkle for your information!"  Hiccup said, voice dripping with sarcasm.

Toothless delivered a swift pat to Hiccup's back. "That's my little bro." he said proudly.

"Only by like, five minutes!" Hiccup protested.

Toothless laughed and turned to leave. After the door was shut, Hiccup sighed and flopped down onto his bed.

"How am I going to pull this off?"

~~~
Hiccup smiled giddily as he jumped out of his car. After an entire day of driving, he found himself at the Berk international airport. He ran inside and sat by baggage check. This was going to be the best surprise ever.
He sent Astrid a text.
Hey. Have you landed yet?
Yeah, oh no. I think I got on the wrong flight.
Hiccup smiled deviously.
That sucks. Where do u think u r?
Dunno, haven't seen the sign yet. Guess I'll go to baggage check to get everything and sort something out.
Good idea.
Hiccup's face lit up when he saw a blonde female walking down the ramp, looking down at her phone. There was no doubt who it was. Hiccup looked down and sent one last text.
Look up.
The female looked questioningly at her phone and shook her head.
"Pft, typical Astrid." Hiccup muttered under his breath. He stood up and began waving his arms. "ASTRID!"
Now this caught the female's attention. She looked up and gasped. Not quite sure if her mind was playing tricks on her or not.
Hiccup began to run at an Olympic speed towards the female, a wide grin spread across his face. He met up with the female and smiled at her shocked face.
"Hiccup?"
"Astrid." he snickered.
"Damn, puberty hit you like a truck." Astrid muttered, making Hiccup snicker.
"Nice to see you too, m'lady."
Astrid beamed and hugged her friend for the first time in an entire decade.
Hiccup was so caught up in the moment, he ducked down and planted a kiss right on her lips.
Astrid was caught off guard. After not seeing her best friend for ten years, and not even being able to see his face for five, she's greeted with a kiss straight on the lips. No warning whatsoever.
But then again, hadn't she imagined this moment for as long as she could remember?
Astrid kissed back. It was simple and short. To the people passing by, it was nothing but a kiss between a couple, one finally back from a business trip or something.
But to them, it was everything. Those short three seconds of locked lips signaled something. And that something was union.
One year later, the pair found themselves in the same position at their wedding.
Toothless stood next to them as Hiccup's best man, wiping tears out of his eyes.
"My wittle baby-boo is all grown up." he weeped.
