Astrid sighed when she cane downstairs to see her husband pacing around by the fire.

"Hiccup, stop pacing around, you need some sleep."

Hiccup's head snapped around to look at Astrid. He shook his head as he walked swiftly toward his wife. "No, you shouldn't be up this late. Go back to bed." he said drowsily, trying to push Astrid, but being so tired, his strength was completely sapped.

Astrid chuckled and pat Hiccup on the head. "It's fine, I only came down for a midnight snack."

Hiccup rested his head on Astrid's shoulder and looked up at her with a pout. "But I'm not the one carrying our child. You need to be well-rested."

Astrid smiled and shook her head. "Come on, let's get you to bed, you have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow."

Hiccup shook his head, there's still stuff to do, I have to put out the fire, feed the dragons, make sure you get your snack properly, sign a treaty, and defeat Vigo and Ryker, show Her the truth about dragons, build Toothless a tail, shoot down a night fury...." Hiccup dozed off on Astrid's shoulder.

Astrid chuckled and moved her snoozing husband so that he was sitting by the fireside. She smiled as she sat dow next to him. Gothi said that the baby could come any day now. That was good news for Astrid, who was tired of Hiccup fretting so much.

Just then, Hiccup's eyes shot open and he sat up immediately. "Astrid! Get to bed!" he yelped, fully awake.

Astrid shook her head and stroked Hiccup's hair. "I'll be fine. Let's just enjoy the warmth, it's really cold outside."

Hiccup smiled and laid his head on her stomach. "What should we name it?"

Astrid smiled and rubbed her stomach. "I dunno, do you think it'll be a boy or a girl?"

"Oh, definitely a girl."

Astrid shook her head. "Nah, I think it'll be a boy."

Hiccup looked up and smirked. "Let's make a bet, whoever loses has stable duty for a month."

Astrid looked almost offended. "Hiccup, we are not placing bets on the gender of our child!"

Hiccup smiled cheekily and poked Astrid in the arm. "Come on, you know you want to."

Astrid sighed and rolled her eyes. She held her right hand out to shake. "Fine. Dea-"

Astrid began to breathe heavily. All the color drained from Hiccup's face. "Astrid? Is everything alright?"

Astrid gave Hiccup the most peeved look the poor guy had ever seen.

"If...Someone...Starts...breathing...heavily...do...you...think...that...they're...alright?"

Hiccup tipped his head to the side. "Good point. Let's go to Gothi's."

He helped Astrid up and rushed her outside through the snow. As he set off to the village paths, Astrid elbowed him in the stomach, causing him to double over in pain.

"YOU IDIOT! WE HAVE DRAGONS!"

Hiccup face palmed before whistling for Toothless. The dragon came and Hiccup jumped up before tugging Astrid on behind him. They launched into the sky. As they were flying over the village, Hiccup smiled.

"Remember when we first ever flew together? Who knew that eight years later we'd be flying to Gothi's to deliver our first child." he said reminiscently.

Astrid punched him in the shoulder. "Quit it with the sentimental stuff and GO FASTER!!"

"Right-o!" Hiccup said, fearing for his life as he sped up.

Once they landed on the deck of Gothi's hut, the doors flew open and Hiccup rushed Astrid inside. Gothi took her hand and slammed the door in Hiccup's face.

"Hey! Let me in!" he yelled. "I should be in there!" he screamed as he banged on the doors.

Thirty minutes later, Hiccup had accepted his fate and was now sitting down against the door. A confused Toothless walked up to him and gargled curiously.

"Hey, bud. In a little bit, there'll be a little child in our life. Maybe if Gothi ever felt sympathy, I'd be in there sharing the experience with her. But, alas, I'm stuck out here, in the middle of this snowy night. Just days before Snoggletog. What did I do to deserve this. I wonder how Astrid's feeling. All alone, with a mute old lady."

Toothless nudged his best friend in the side and looked out over the village. This caused an idea to pop into Hiccup's head.

"Hey! Maybe I should let the rest of the village know about this. Let's go, bud!" Hiccup called out as he mounted Toothless and flew out across the village.

Hours later, Hiccup and the rest of the dragon riders were waiting outside of the hut worriedly when the door opened. Hiccup ran as fast as he could into the hut, slamming the door in the faces of the dragon riders.

Astrid smiled weakly and turned to Hiccup, revealing a set of twins. One boy and one girl.

Hiccup's eyes welled up as he rushed over to the small infants. The girl had a small swoop of auburn hair on her head and a splay of freckles all over her face. The boy had blond hair and a small splay of freckles on the bridge of his nose.

"They're beautiful. What should we name them?"

Astrid smiled lovingly at her children. "I'll name our son, you can name our daughter."

Hiccup took his daughter in his arms and rocked her around for a while before thinking of a name. "Asta. Divine beauty, like her mother."

Astrid smiled. "Herlief, descendant of a warrior."

Hiccup leaned down and kissed Astrid on the lips.

"Thank you for flying with me."
