So, you know how everybody says that like, you can feel sparks when you kiss if it's true love? Like, omigod! It's true love! Wouldn't feeling sparks just, hurt like hell? Yes. Yes they would. So, I'm gonna make fun of crappy love stories! Even though I've written them myself and absolutely love them. I try not to fall down that "meant to be" hole anymore, but you know with one of my previous one shots(I think we all know which one), I fell down that hole hard. So here's my redemption.

Astrid gasped as she watched her beloved collapse on the battle field.

"...No..." she breathed as hot tears began to fall down her cheeks. "Nonononononononono NO!"

Everything halted. All battle stopped. Astrid ran across the field, everything was in slow motion. Astrid threw off her armor dramatically as she slid through the dirt towards her fallen love.

Astrid stared down into the shining, emerald eyes of her love. She stroked his cheek as tears fell down her face.

"No..." she breathed. "You can live through this...We've almost won...please stay with us..." she cried. "Hiccup..."

Hiccup smiled weakly and stroked Astrid's hair. "Astrid..."

Astrid sobbed. "No, I can't do this alone...Please!"

Hiccup laughed weekly. "You'll live, you're strong, beautiful, independent, and you can lead the kingdom well...Goodbye."

Astrid weeped as Hiccup's eyelids began to fall slowly.

"NO! Hiccup, I never got the chance to tell you, I-"

Astrid felt a hand softly cup her cheek and pull her close, her lips touched another's. It was magical, it was everything, the pair felt sparks.

"Ow!" the pair yelped in unison.

The pair pulled away and held their mouths.

"You felt that, right?" Astrid asked, her hand still cupped over her mouth.

Hiccup nodded. "We should try that again."

The pair leaned in again, and felt the same thing.

"Okay. Something is definitely wrong." Astrid said.

"Wait, wipe off your mouth, maybe we had something on our lips." Hiccup said, taking a pack of tissues out of his back pocket and handed one to Astrid, completely ignoring the sword sticking out if his side. The pair used the tissues and tried again.

"OW! FUCK!" they yelled in unison.

Just then Snotlout popped up out of nowhere with a bloody sword and an agitated look on his face.

"Uh, guys? Don't forget that this is KIDS MOVIE! And we need you guys to come and fight with us!"

Astrid grumbled and rolled her eyes. "We're trying to have romantic last moment here! And it's kind of hard not to react when you're lips are actually burning! Now shoo!"

There was a shrug from Snotlout and he walked off to continue stabbing mindless henchmen.

"Who is he to call us out for swearing in a kid's movie when he's literally slaughtering people!" Astrid grumbled as she pulled the sword out of his side.

With the sword gone, Hiccup sat up with a few grunts.

"Still have those bandages?" Astrid asked as she used her shirt to wipe up any excess blood.

There was a muttered "yep" and the bandages were handed to her. After wrapping the bandages around the poor guy's body, Astrid leaned in for another kiss, but only to feel a burning on her lips.

"Dammit!" Astrid yelped.

"I guess that's the price of true love." Hiccup said sappily.
