Chapter 56

Ashley

After Roman put the creme on me again, and patched me up we started to get the pack back and running. Sophia said sorry to everyone for lying, she said that it was so she could know if I was safe. I dont know how it happened, but Sophia moved in with Javiare. She told me she couldn't take it being in the pack house and spending another night in tiger old bedroom. Roman did offer to change her room, but she had already made her desition. Christine promised to stay so she could teach me how to control my magic that I apparently had. We had just finished lunch, the whole Jared incident happened 2 days ago. Roman is now walking me to Christine's so we could start my training "what exactly happens to you?" He asked giving our hands a squeeze as they swayed when we walked

"Well, to be honest I don't really know. After dinner, I walked up to the bedroom and Jared was sitting on the bed. I told him you were not here and you would be back soon. Then he stood up and walked over to me, he then told me that he wasnt here for you he was there for me. That's when I felt a sharp pain in my neck and I blacked out" I explained to him, "and what happened to you?"

He seemed to tense up, "oh, uh, yeah... Well, mine was more of him leading me to believe you were somewhere but not. Then he led me down to the base ment" I stopped him

"Why would I go to the basement? Furthermore I didn't even know how to go there" I told him

He laughed, "yeah now that I look back on it, I feel really dumb. But where did you say he kept you?"

"In a cabbin, out of territory. I woke up there, and he was there when I woke up. I kinda threw a lamp at him"I googled and Roman managed to laugh to, "then he said he would be back and left. I searched the whole house for something, but I couldn't find one single piece of glass or any make shift weapon. I baracaded myself in the bedroom I woke up in, but he easily got past. Then he dragged me to the basement in the house, chained me up" I said with a sigh, "but luckily the next morning your brother came to save me, he was very understanding and waited until I trusted him. He then brought me back to pack lands, and we met up with Steve. Javiare went ahead and Steve brought me back to the pack house. That's when every thing happened"

Roman nodded, "but, what about Jareds mate, how did you know about that?"

"He told me on accident, but I knew but the look in his eyes, he really loved her. I don't know what happened, only how they met" I told him

When I looked back up I saw Christine, she was fooling around with some more boxes as per usual. She looked up for a moment and saw us walking to her, she smiled and waved then went back to what she was doing. As Roman and I walked up she quickly sat me down at the table she had set up, "time to see what kind of magic you can do!" She said excitedly...

This is a little while after the fight, there too at Christine's...

Sophia

Curled up, and holding a once full hot cup of coco. I sat in Christine's wagon with Javiare across from me, while Christine walked over and picked up the empty cold mugs. I just pulled the blanket Javiare put around me, tighter to myself. Why, why didn't I feel anything when he died? As he was slipping away, every time I touched his cold skin, I felt nothing, no bond. I swear I felt the bond when he left the pack, but not when he died and what did Jared mean, about me moving on. I thought soul mates were forever, I thought you get one and only one, so what's with me? I kept thinking inside my head. "What are you thinking about?" Javiare asked

I looked up from my feet, "stuff" I said low

He leaned closer, "what kind of stuff? If you have any questions, I'm right here" he said

"Bond, stuff" I told him before looking back down at my feet

He sighed, "they mate bond is a confusing thing, I know its hard to get over but your stronger, I know, ive seen you. The moon goddess is the one who decides the fate of all mates" he explained

"Well she's being a real confusing b¡th right now" I said getting mad

If she recited the fate, then why isn't Jasper still alive and why dont I feel the mate bond? I said in my head. "She does things that might not seem right, but she's planned it out for everyone. You need to trust her on that" I looked up into his eyes, "she has a plan for you" he said with all his heart

I nodded, "I guess, but why did he have to die? And why didn't..." I stopped myself from finishing that sentence

Javiare put his elbows in the table in front of us and rested his head on it  "why didn't what?" He asked

I looked back down, feeling the water well up in my eyes, "come on you can ask me anything, I probably will know the answer" he said

I looked up with tears falling and looked him right in the eyes, "why didnt I feel the mate bond when he died? I felt it when he left the pack, but why dont I feel it now?" I asked...
