I watched from my bed as Mr. Massi walked past my bedroom door, carrying two black duffle bags with him as he walked down the hall, to the guest room. He had walked back out, past my door again, only to come back with two more bags, I sat on my bed with my watercolor sketchbook in my lap, a small cup of water on my nightstand with my tray of watercolor paint at my feet. My knees were bent so the sketchbook rested against my legs, a paintbrush being held by my teeth while another one was tucked behind my ear.

There was another paintbrush in my hands, my feet bare with my toe nails painted dark blue. When we had gotten home, I had changed into more comfortable clothes, consisting of a pair of black leggings, but I had also decided to keep my upper half unchanged. Snowball was snuggled up against Nala, who were both asleep on the pillow next to me, but I was also tempted to go on my new hammock that was set up by the doors of my balcony. A knock on my door brought me from my painting, causing me to look up, pushing my glasses up as well as I softly scratched my nose with the end of my paintbrush, seeing Mr. Massi standing in my doorway.

"May I come in?" He asked, earning a meek nod from me

He gave me a small smile, I took the paintbrush from my mouth, placing it on the rim of the small cup, followed by the others, watching as he walked inside, looking around to assess the room.

"There will be a new security system installed along the exterior of the house" he informed, walking while looking around "just a precaution, and you also may need one on your balcony" he looked at the chain in confusion

"Like to keep it open at night" I said "cold air helps me sleep"

"Someone could have easily broken in" he replied, turning around and crossing his arms over his chest

"Been a little over a month" I replied with a small shrug, looking back at my painting "nothing happened"

There was a small sigh, causing me to look up at him once more,

". . . People wouldn't be able to climb up here anyway" he said "there's absolutely no possible way, coming from me. But I'd like to put a camera just to get the view of the angle" earning a small nod from me

Uncrossing his harms, he stuffed his hands in his pockets, walking over to my bed and I moved the watercolor tray, silently telling him that he could sit, which he did.

"Why is it that your father wanted to hire Dominic and I?" He asked curiously

Looking at him, I pushed my glasses further up my nose, reaching for the drawer in my nightstand, opening it, grabbing my iPad and closing it. I put in the password, went straight to YouTube and found mine and dads channel, handing it to him. He took it from my hands, I wrapped my arms around my legs as they were still bent, watching as he played one of the videos, the sound of my voice filling the room. His facial expression didn't change as he watched all of the videos of me singing, looking back at me,

"Is this it?" He asked, causing me to shake my head

He handed the iPad back to me, causing me to look for the main video as to why dad suggested a tutor,

Phoenix Empire Sings and Dances to Warrior

The video instantly popped up, causing me to hand it back to him, the sound of my shy voice filling my ears. Mr. Massi watched the video carefully, as if taking in every detail of the routine, but when it was over, he handed it back to me, allowing me to press the home button and shut it off.

"That's what did it" he concluded, earning a meek nod from me

"Dad suggested a tutor" I said, wrapping my arms around my legs once more "we didn't want to miss school"
