During her break at work, LaTrice sat in her car, talking on the phone with Brent.
"No I have not talked to him yet." LaTrice kept her voice low as she was talking to Brent on the phone because her windows were down.
"He still hadn't spoken to you since you got home?" Brent asked.
"No. It's almost like he keeps his distance. As if he can't stand to be around me." She responded.
Brent sighed. "See, this whole thing wasn't a good idea. He was better off not knowing, Trice."
"No. He needed to know." She replied. "I couldn't keep it from him any longer."
"That's you feeling guilty about the past. What we had, happened and it's over." He said.
"Over?" She questioned. "So you're over me? You don't love me anymore?"
Brent realized he didn't choose those words too wisely. "No, Trice, I still love you. I really do. I didn't mean it that way. I meant that we hadn't done anything together in years. There's no way he's going to hold this against you."
"Seriously? Brent, you're his best friend!" She cried out. "I married a man who loved me and I didn't love him back because I was in love with his best friend. What if he leaves me? After finding out I was pregnant by you, I'm sure he'll leave me,"
"Trice, baby, just relax." Brent was trying to calm her down. "I doubt if he leaves you and if he does, I'm here for you." He assured.
"What about Kendra?" She asked. "What is she saying about all of this?" She asked.
He chuckled a bit. "She leaving me." he said straight up.
"She is?" LaTrice gasped. "You better go fight for your woman."
"Kendra was my wife and I love her but you're my woman. I'd rather take the chance and fight for you." He said.
LaTrice was speechless for a moment. "What? Me?" She was confused.
"When Drew called me and told me y'all were coming to Nashville, I was excited. He probably thought I was excited to see him and you, but I was more excited about seeing you than him." he explained. "I missed you, a lot. When y'all came to the house, I wanted to lock in one of our bedrooms and make sweet love to you for old times sake."
LaTrice couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was surprised he still felt that way after all these years.
"I know it's inappropriate and all but even when we were in my living room and we were talking, girl I wanted to just lay your body on the couch, hell, lay you anywhere!"
"Brent!' She exclaimed.
"And I would've had you calling my name like that."
"My husband was in the house."
"And that's the only reason I didn't do it." he replied with a chuckle. "Like I said before, I still love you and I still want you. If Kendra leaves me, I'm going to come after you and makre sure that I get you. You don't love Drew, you love me and you and I both know that. If he leaves you, let him leave, because then, you'll be mine. No doubt."
"I hate that I waited this long to make this decision. I just didn't want to break up what you and Kendra had back then."
"You know what she and I had was nothing compared to me and you." He responded.
LaTrice was in deep thought for a moment.
"How about you leave him and come live with me. You and I could start a new life together."
