"Where the hell have you been?" Trent asked as Destiny walked into the house with bags in her hands.
"I went to the store to get some groceries." She held up the bags and made her way to the kitchen.
Trenton followed her into the kitchen, "Why are you just now getting groceries?"
"I had other stuff to do." She frowned at him, wishing he'd chill and go away. She already had a pot and a pan on the stove so she could get started with dinner soon as she got home.
She poured some grease into the pan and turned the stove on, so that she could fry her pork chops. As she was preparing the food, Trenton stood there watching her every move as if he were preying upon her. She paused and looked at him.
"What?" She questioned.
"I'm waiting on you to tell me what other stuff you had to do, that's more important than feeding you man." He scolwed at her.
Desinty stared at Trenton for a moment. "Baby, did you forget that I had a few meetings today with my manager and all of that?"
His face softened a bit as he thought. "Oh yeah."
"Yeah." She nodded her head. She now had her pork chops out and she began to season them. "Just go back into the living room and relax. Dinner will be ready shortly." She said with a smile.
"Don't take too long."
Destiny didn't know what was wrong with Trent, but he wasn't as bad a she thought. She always found new ways to talk herself out of something before it started with him. She loved that man to death, so the times he put his hands on her, wasn't going to make her leave. She was just that crazy about him.
"Baby," Trenton called out. "bring me a beer out the fridge!"
"Alright, hold on for a moment." She responded, flipping over her food. After a few minutes, she still hadn't made her way to get the beer, she was caught up cooking, Trenton walk into the kitchen with a disappointing look on his face.
"What did I just tell you to do?" He asked.
She looked at him and remembered she forgot about the beer. "Awe, damn! Sorry baby. I really forgot." She turned away from the stove, facing him. "I didn't want to burn the-" before the next word could come out of her mouth, Trenton's hand already made it to her face.
His slap nearly made her fall, but she caught herself on the stove and burned herself because the stove top burner was on.
"Ahh." She cried out loud as she backed away from the stove as quick as she could.
"So you're forgetful now?" He fussed. "You couldn't remember to bring me one simple beer?" He stepped closer to her. Grabbing her arms, Trenton gripped her arms with all of his strength.
All Destiny could do was cry. That slap felt like nothing compared to the burn on her hand.
"Stop fucking crying!" He yelled. "Acting like I'm hurting you! You've been hit before, you're used to this!" He finally let her go by pushing her away. He went into the refrigerator and got himself a beer, disappointed that he had to do it himself.
Destiny knew she still had to finish dinner and she was going to do just that to avoid another conflict with Trenton. She couldn't believe he made her burn herself. When she was done, she took Trenton his dinner and made her way up to their master bedroom. She observed the burns on her hand and knew she had to get them checked out immediately.
"I'm going to the hospital." She said. Grabbing her car keys off the countertop.
"For what?" He questioned, not wanting to go anywhere.
