Mya couldn't believe what Cassie was telling her over the phone. "Wait, he was with Destiny?"
"Yes! Baby cousin, Destiny." Cassie confirmed for the hundreth time. "He seemed like he was going to do something to get to you, so I'm giving you a fair warning."
"After me? Why?" Mya's eyes grew wide and her heart started beating faster. "What will he be after me for?"
"Mya, Jackson isn't going to let you go. I'm sure y'all haven't talked in months but that doesn't mean that he's gone out your life for good.
Mya didn't like the sound of Cassie saying Jackson was going to come after her. She know hse made it clear to Jackson about him and her not happening and for him to never contact her again. She also didn't like the idea that Destiny was around someone like Jackson or him being around Destiny. She needed to get her cousin out of anything that she was about to get herself into.
Once she had ened the call with Cassie, she called Destiny immediately. Mya was anxious for Destiny to pick up the phone.
"Hello?" Destiny answered the phone.
"Hey, Dest!" Mya said. "What's up?"
"Um, nothing much." Destiny answered, wishing she knew why Mya was calling her.
"What have you been up?" She asked.
"Um, nothing much. " She repeated. There was a slight pause over the phone before Destiny spoke again. "So, your little friend must have told you that she saw me at the house?"
"Yea, Cassie told me. I don't really much about you being over there and neither does she, it's just who you were there with that concerns me."
"Jackson?"
"Yes, Jackson." Mya answered.
"How do you know Jackson?" Destiny asked.
Mya sighed, "Jackson is an old friend of mine who is not a friend of yours." She answered, hoping Destiny wouldn't snap on her like she had done before.
"What do you mean, not a friend of mine?" Destiny questioned. "What's wrong with this guy and why shouldn't I be associated with him?" Destiny was already being irritated by Mya.
"Idon't want to tell you who you can and cannot associate with, hang with, or anything because you're grown. I just like to give you fair warnings about people."
"It's about time that you realized I'm grown and I can do whatever it is that I want to do." Destiny snapped. "So please save the lecture or anything else you have to say about anything that I'm doin being, because I'm grown and I don't need you to hold my hand."
Mya was not sure who Destiny was anymore. Destiny had gone from being the little cousin that would want to do anything and every Mya was doing or she would do whatever Mya tells her to do. Now, Destiny had become a defiant person. She wouldn't do what's right for her and Mya could see that, but Destiny couldn't. Mya knew she had to allow Destiny to make some mistakes on her own, but she Destiny's attitude was causing her to give up on her a little. She didn't want to be helped.
After she'd got off the phone with Mya, Destiny didn't know what Mya meant by Jackson being an old friend of hers, and she wanted to find out what kind of friend. Mya's tone showed that it wasn't anything good, so she wanted to set up a little surprise for Mya.
Destiny called Jackson to meet up with him so that they could pay Mya a little visit.
She was tired of her cousin butting in her business, so it was Destiny's turn to dip into Mya's business.
"I was surprised that you called me." Jackson to Destiny when he saw her on his porch.
Destiny had gone over to Jackson's house and she told him that she had a little thank you surprise for him.
