4 months later
"Baby, come on." Drew said as he stood a the foot of the stairs, glancing at his watch. "Moms is expecting us over there in twenty minutes." He yelled.
"Okay, give me one minute." she called out as she added another dab of lip gloss on her lips.
"You look fine, you don't need to put anything else on."
"Okay, okay." She said as she walked out the bedroom and stood at the top of the stairway. "Are you sure I look fine?" She asked, posing.
"Yes. Ma will love you, okay?" He assured.
"Okay. Let's go then." She locked her arm into his as they walked into the garage.
Drew was loving his new home and his new girlfriend, Alexandria. She and Drew had been dating for three months and he was taking her to meet Shirley and Joy.
He was nervous, yet excited because he knew Shirley was going to love her just as much as he liked her.
He'd met her right before he moved out of his old house as he was looking for new furniture. Her beauty grabbed his attention the moment he'd laid eyes on her.
When they got in the car, she flipped her long, golden brown hair over her shoulder before resting her back on the passenger seat.
He pulled out the garage and out the driveway and they listened to some jazz music the entire ride to Shirley's house. When they pulled into Shirley's driveway, Drew parked the car. He looked at Alexandria and smiled.
"You ready?" he asked, grabbing her hand.
"I'm nervous." she squeezed his hand. "What if she doesn't like me?"
"Sweetheart, she will like you. I like you, actually, I love you."
"You love me?" her eyes lit up.
With a slight smile, he looked into her big, light brown eyes and said, "Yes. I love you."
She was now grinning.
"You're an amazing woman and you've made me nothing but a happy man from the moment I met you and you don't know how much that means to me," he gave her the most sincere look, "and mama."
"I love you too, Drew. I'm so glad that I'm able to make you happy."
"And what will make me more happier is one of my favorite girls meets my other two favorite girls." He said.
She took a deep breath and exhaled. "Okay."
"Come on." He opened his door and met her on the passenger side of the car as she got out. They walked hand in hand to the front door and Drew unlocked the door with his key.
"Ma!" He called out as they walked inside the house. Alexandria was close on his heels as she followed him.
"Mmm it smells great in here." She whispered. The aroma of the food being cooked nearly casted a spell upon her.
Drew knew that Shirley was nowhere but in the kitchen which is where she always was unless she was sleeping.
"Mama." Drew walked in the kitchen and hugged Shirley. "Hey."
"Hey baby," she hugged him back. Her eyes then landed on the gorgeous woman that stood nearby. "Oh my goodnes, you must be Alexandria?"
Alexandria nervously chuckled as she stretched her arm out to shake Shirley's hand.
Shirley made a funny face at Alexandria's hand. "baby, we give hugs around here." she opened her arms for a hug and Alexandria walked forward to give her a hug. Embracing the hug she received, Alexandria felt relaxed.
