Drew took his shower while LaTrice sat in their bed, thinking about whether or not she should tell him. She knew what she was doing was wrong, but there was no way she could tell him the truth.
She still thought about talking Drew into going on a trip together, so that they could be alone. She wanted to go somewhere where when she tells him, he wouldn't be able to walk out on her and disappear. LaTrice had a lot to think about because she could really break her family up by telling Drew the truth.
Drew was out the shower, dressed in boxers and no shirt. He got in the bed next to LaTrice, getting comfortable in the bed. "How about tomorrow we go out on a dinner date?" He said randomly.
His request caught her off gaurd. "Sure." She responded. "How about we take a trip out of town somewhere?" She said.
He stared at her, surprised that she suggested going on a trip with him. "Just us?" He asked.
She chuckled. "Yes." She nodded head. "Just the two of us." She confirmed.
"That's fine with me. We could use some alone time." He grinned, holding her hand. "Where were you thinking about going?" He asked.
"Um, I was thinking Nashville."
Her response threw him off a little. "Nashville?" He questioned. "Where'd you get that from?"
She chuckled. "We've never been to Nashville before, so I figured it could be something for the both of us to experience together."
"My baby planning us trips to random places and stuff. I love you girl." He leaned over and kissed her cheek.
For a moment, LaTrice felt that she really desreved his love, but she kept in mind why she wanted to take this trip. "I love you too." She looked at her husband who was extremely excited about their plan.
"We could give Brent a call!" Drew said, referring to his childhood best friend, Brent. He and Brent went to school together and "I forgot he moved to Nashville. I'll give him a call some time tomorrow."
"When do you think you can take off for the trip?" She asked. "I can get someone to handle things at the shop for me."
"Probably next week. I can take off whenever, but we have a lot of work that needs to be done this week." He answered. "So we can go next week." He said. "How long?"
"Just a few days. Maybe four days." LaTrice answered. "You know Joy would have a fit if we're gone for too long." SHe chuckled.
He laughed.
For the first time in a long time, they cuddled and had pillow talk all night long. They both felt a spark of happiness with each other that night.
When the next week came, Drew and LaTrice were getting ready for their trip. They were going to take the seven hour drive instead of flying. They were keeping touch with Brent the closer they got to Nashville. He was kind enough to let them stay at his house instead od them getting a hotel.
After the drive, they'd finally made it to Brent's house. They'd spent time with Brent, his wife Kendra, and their three children, Kayla, Briana, and Brandon. When the children had gone to bed, the adults stayed up and talked.
Brent and Drew were glad to see each other. After they moved away from each other after college, they barely spoke. Their lives and careers kept them busy, so they didn't speak much.
The next day, Kendra took Drew and LaTrice out on a tour around town while Brent was at work and the children were at school. When Brent was off of work, they all went out again. Dinner was great and they were all back at the house that evening. Kendra had gone to pick up the children from a relative's house and Drew had gone up to take a phone call from work.
