Twenty-Seven

Harry found himself sleeping in the armchair by the fire with the note to Draco in his lap come morning. His glasses had fallen into his lap on top of the note. Harry hastily put his glasses on as he heard footsteps coming down from the dormitory.

"Harry you still down here?" Ron's voice came through a yawn

"I'm here.Fell asleep in the chair. Guess I should've gone up to bed when you did." Harry stretched his arms as Ron sat in the chair opposite him.

"Probably. How's everything going?" Ron asked

"It's going well. Everyone is taking it differently. I'm not sure how things are on his side though." Harry yawned

"Anyone giving you a hard time?" Ron asked

"No more than usual. Nothing I'll get angry about." Harry shrugged glad that Ron was still speaking to him

"Look I know I'm not being the best friend about this but you gotta understand that it's so unexpected that it floored me. I'm not gonna stop being your friend over this. I just gotta get used to it is all." Ron sighed

"Ron, I know. You're adjusting just as much as I am.  I can't believe this is really happening. Feels like a weird dream."

"What's it like?" Ron asked

"Kinda like all the sudden I've got a crush on someone I've never even thought twice about. It's like my magic is connected to his pulling us together. At least that's how Hermione explained it. Like something is pulling me to him." Harry tried to explain

"I know you're dreading this question but what had Ginny said about this?"

"She told me that she's done research on this and it's not as uncommon as you'd think for wolves to have male mates. Something about craving a alpha male. All in all she understands it better than I do." Harry chuckled

"That's freaky weird." Ron huffed

"At first yeah. I'm accepting it slowly." Harry said

"I'm starting too. I mean if it had been anyone else I would be able to accept it better. It's just that you and him have been at each other's throats for so long ya know?"

"I know. I expected Hermione and you to have a hard time with it. I'm just not fighting it. We made that agreement to just let it happen." Harry shrugged at Ron

"I'm glad you're happy. It takes a bit of stress off you."

"Puts about more back too. Worrying about what he's having to deal with." Harry sighed

"Malfoy a tough man Harry. He knows how to handle himself. People are still scared of him." Ron smiled

"That is true. I'm gonna go get changed and head to breakfast early. I've gotten get this letter sent out anyway." Harry started to stand.

"I'm gonna catch some shower time and meet you down there." Ron told him.
