The subway was quiet. There were only a few people riding which made sense, seeing it was well past 10. You had your headphones in, your eyes drifting, but you stuttered awake when you felt a light bump on your shoulder. You peeled your eyes open and glanced over at the women that had just sat right next to you even though the other side was completely open except for one guy.
You narrowed your eyes as you slowly sat up. He was wearing all black, his hood up. He had his sleeves rolled up to his elbow, showing a good amount of tattoos. All the people on the subway were sitting on the opposite side he was, so even though the train wasn't at all full, you were squished against the wall.
Ugh, stupid stereotyping ass holes.
You shoved your earphones back in and closed your eyes, wanting nothing more than to go home and eat.
Finally, your stop was upon you. Most of the people stood to get off, along with the guy in the black hood. You kept your headphones in and stuck your hands in the loose pockets of your jacket, welcoming the space you now had.
You were a few steps from the stairs when the corner of your eyes caught the boy in the black hood getting knocked in the shoulder by a few people running for the train. They left him as he stumbled, his bag falling to the ground, causing a bunch of papers to scatter across the ground. You watch for only a second as people past with dirty looks. You rolled your eyes and moved towards the boy.
"Here." You said gently when reaching him, getting his head to shoot up. "Let me help you."
He sat frozen looking at you with wide eyes as you started picking up some of the things.
"I said i'd help you, not do it by myself." You looked up at him still staring at you.
"Sorry." He barely whispered, scrambling to pick up his things.
"Maybe close your bag next time." You gave him a light smile as you handed him everything you picked up.
"I would if I could." He scoffed, showing you the broken zipper of his backpack.
"Oh." You whistled. "You are in need of a new backpack."
"Tell me about it." He huffed out, slinging the backpack over his shoulder. "Thanks, by the way." He smiled sweetly at you as you stood.
Your heart skipped a beat as you really looked at him. He was good looking alright, but when he smiled, it made you want to scream into your pillow.
"Yeah, sure." You stuttered out after a second. "Get home safe."
He blinked at that, his face going blank for a second before that smile was back. "Thanks, you too."
You manage a smile and a head nod as he turned and walked off. You watched him go for a second before smacking yourself in the forehead.
"Ah, fuck Y/N you didn't even get his name you god damn lug nut."

"Hello?" You held your phone between your shoulder and ear as you struggled with everything in your hands.
"Y/N where the fuck are you? You said you'd be home by 10:30."
"Sorry," You sighed out. "I got caught up and missed the first train, i'm on my way back right now."
"Do you want me to come get you?" Your roommate offered. "It's really late, and it's like a 15 minute walk."
"A walk I take every night at this time." You smiled to yourself. "I'll be home in 10, alright?"
She let out a long dramatic sigh. "Fine. Be safe."
"Always am." You said just before hanging up.
