There it was again, that sound coming from your door. You hid shaking behind the kitchen counter, clutching a knife in one and and your phone in the other. The line was dead, you figured that much seeing as 911 didn't work, but even so, you kept dialing Hoseok's number over and over, hoping to at least hear his voice.
You covered your mouth to muffle a scream as you heard the door burst off it's hinges. You shut your eyes tight, trying to keep tears from spilling.
"I know you're in here." The voice rang throughout the house. "I followed you home dear, I know you're still here."
You finally let your eyes open, clutching on very tightly to the knife with your sweaty hand as you listened to the footsteps getting closer.
"I promise to go a lot easier on you if you just come out. If you make me come and find you I can't say how upset i'll be."
You tried to steady your breathing, shifting your position to try and run out the back door, but right as you moved to stand, you felt hands grab at your arms.
You screamed, flinging the knife in your hand. You heard the man hiss, so you must have gotten a hit in, but it wasn't enough.
He ripped the knife out of your hand and threw it behind him, crushing you with his grip. "Stupid move, sweetheart. Now you've made me angry."
You tried to scream again, but this time he covered your mouth with something, something that made you very dizzy...
You sat straight up, breathing heavily as you frantically looked around your dark, empty room. You felt the sweat roll down your neck as you fumbled for your bedside light.
You winced at first at the sudden light, but then found it welcoming as you cradled your knees to your chest, doing your best to steady your breathing, running a shaky hand through your hair.
You glanced at the clock to see it was five past one. You blinked a few times at the hour, and still the bed was empty beside you. Normally Hoseok would be home by now. He had had some late nights, but by now he should be home.
He's been really busy lately. You through to calm yourself. Just lay down and-
There was a sound from downstairs. Even though it was barely audible you still jumped out of your skin, immediately reaching for you phone, holding it against your chest as the sound came again, making you realize it was just the ice from the fridge.
You let out a long ragged breath, closing your eyes as you felt as though your heart was about to beat out of your chest.
You tried to calm yourself down for what seemed to be at least ten minutes, even getting up to splash some water on your face, but nothing was working. You really didn't want to bother him, but you couldn't even walk right at this point.
The phone rang for a while and ended up going to voicemail. Your breathing started to increase as you remembered the exact same thing happening in your dream.
Your hands started to shake uncontrollably as you called again, the same thing happening. You tried one more time, and thank god his voice came through.
"Y/N? Why are you still up?"
You tried to steady your voice. "I wa-was just w-wondering what ti-ime you were going to be home?" Didn't work.
"Y/N are you alright?" He asked concerned. "Why are you stuttering?"
"Oh, sorry." You whispered, forcing yourself to pull it together. "It's just cold is all."
