Song: Papercut By: Jordin Sparks
It was love at first sight. Dramatic, right? He was charming. He was the king of smooth-talking. You were young when you first met him, only 19. He was older and successful. You had never really been in a real relationship before, and you were so smitten with him you just thought this is how it went.
It's been a little over a year that you and Hoseok had been "dating". You met through a friend. The two of you talked all night and he ended up calling you the next morning, asking if you wanted to go out again. You didn't act your age around him, you wanted to be grown-up, hanging around him and his friends that were holding glasses of wine. It took longer than it should've for you to see that he never really paid attention to you when you were out in public.
When it was just the two of you, he was caring, and sweet, giving you all the attention you wanted, but he was like a different man when he left your apartment. He wouldn't call very often and would get upset when you did, saying he was busy, and that he'd told you millions of times he would always call you because he couldn't have the bother of his phone ringing. You gave into him, you always did. You thought you were being understanding, and patient, but you were just being played.
You didn't realize how bad he was actually treating you, maybe you just didn't want to believe it. All in all, he was a good guy, it's not like he was a bad person, so you just couldn't see it. You were almost at your two-year mark when the day that changed everything happened.
He told you he was leaving for the tour you knew about. You felt a little pathetic, you begged him not to go. You knew your relationship was on thin ice, and part of you knew him leaving would break it for sure, so you begged. Gave him the one thing you hadn't given him yet, the one thing you were sure you'd save at least for a little longer.
Didn't work.
Two months passed. He only called maybe once, texted a few times. You gave him a pass, just like you always did, telling yourself that he was just too busy and too tired. You had to convince yourself that was the case. Even though you cried yourself to sleep almost every night, it was somehow still not his fault. He came back for just long enough to tell you that he needed to end it.
"W-what?" You stuttered.
"I need a new start, Y/N." He sighed, pretending he felt bad about the situation. "We'll be gone for a long time, doing things in other countries, working with new people, I just can't have more strings here then I can afford."
Strings?! You thought in outrage. Is that all I am to you? A string? You didn't say that though, of course not. "I've been good at not bothering you." You quietly said. "I promise you don't have to worry about me while you're gone."
"That's not it Y/N." His voice held frustration. Why does he have the right to be frustrated? "I can't have a relationship all the way back here, it just won't work." He took a step closer to you. "We're still friends, we'll always be friends."
Friends, huh? He always said that. Stupid friends. "Hoseok," Your voice cracked. "Please-"
"I will still call you when I can, and we can talk all you want."
Call all you can? So never? "B-but-"
There was a faint honk from outside, getting his attention. "That's my manager." He scrunched his nose like he was sad to go. Lier. "I need to go, but I'll call you when I can, okay?"
"You can't leave me!" You tried in one last desperate attempt, following him out the door. "Not like this, please!"
"I'm not leaving you." He said simply. "I'll see you when I get back, okay?"
