"This is it?" You asked looking up at the older man standing in front of you.
He simply shrugged. "This was all I could find, you know the FBI is looking for this boy? They've got just about all of his information on complete lockdown."
"Alright." You let out a long sigh. "Thanks anyway, at least this is something."
"Hey," The man called after you, getting you to look over your shoulder. "I know you won't tell me exactly why you're looking into this guy, but be careful. He sounds dangerous."
You simply nodded, appreciative of his concern, but at this point, you were kind of sick of people telling you this kid was dangerous. The more information you got on him the more you thought this was all bullshit. The moment you were asked to find this boy, hell the moment you saw his name on the news you knew something was fishy.
According to everything your contact gave you, he had disappeared here and there, sometimes not showing up for weeks. He only had a few close friends, but they would never report anything, knowing his background with the law. There was something that was interesting in the papers he gave you, a location that he and his friends were known to hang out.
It was an old abandoned high school in Daegu. It shut down almost 15 years ago but the school itself was never knocked down because it was in the middle of nowhere. They had been spotted there a few times, but there was a small note by it, saying that only very few people knew about this spot.
At least it's a place to start.
You pulled your jacket tighter around yourself as you stepped off the train. A biting breeze blew past your face, getting you to shiver. You were in walking distance of the place now. It was still a good 15 minutes away, but that gave you time to get your thoughts together.
You really didn't expect to find this guy there, that would be way to easy. You just figured if you were to find anything that would help you find him it would be there. The several hour train ride gave you plenty of time to think. You had never had this much hesitation working for the Chief. You didn't do it often, you didn't like following rules, but she always paid nice. A lot of the time you didn't even look too deeply into the case, why the hell was this one getting you so much?
You ran a light hand through your hair with a sigh before flicking your hood up, hoping to keep your ears at least a little warm. You walked upon a very old dried out pool and you knew you were close. You saw this on the map just about a block away from the school, this must've been for the swim team or something.
You jumped down into the empty pool, keeping your hands in the pocket of your hoodie as you looked around. There were a few old beer cans here and there, and an old golf club hiding under some leaves. Not really evidence, unfortunately, so you headed towards the school itself.
You could see the school from the pool. It was only about a three-minute walk, but for some reason, it felt colder by the school than it was just a few minutes away. It was completely quiet from the outside, it looked just like an abandoned building. Hell, there were some parts that looked as though they would crumble any day.
Cautiously you found a way in. It wasn't a door or window, most of those from first glanced looked to be sealed off, but there was an opening in a wall, which honestly looked like one of the places the boys must've gone in because right when you stepped in you saw footsteps in the dust. They weren't new, but they weren't super old either.
At least you knew you were in somewhat the right place.
This entrance was hard to find, you had to search for a hot minute and duck in and out through some very well places pushes and weeds. If you were going to find carelessly placed evidence about where to find this boy it would be here.
You pulled out the small flashlight that was hooked onto your keychain as you got deeper into the school. The farther away from the windows you got the darker it became. There were no working lights, which you expected. You looked around for any sign of occupation. Candles, more beer bottles, anything that would give you a hint as to what room they normally hung out in.
The noise of your foot kicking something metal got your attention. You looked down at an old beaten up piece of metal that looked almost like a car license plate. It was turning upside down, so you bent to pick it up and see for sure, but a chilling voice echoed through the air, getting you to jump out of your skin.
"Y/F/N." The deep voice said, your name flowing rather smooth from his lips. "I've been wondering when I would run into you."
You kept the flashlight down and away from his face, but you still pointed it at him enough to see his general features.
Fuck me, you groaned in your head. He's gorgeous.
You said nothing, just stayed staring at him. He took a step towards you, his hands in the pockets of his jeans. He seemed awfully calm for someone who had just caught a girl snooping around his only safe haven.
"You know it's actually convenient I run into you here." He said with a very small smile. "Now I don't have to go and find you."
You couldn't hide the surprise in your face. "What?" You barely got out.
He chuckled darkly. "I need your help with this little... problem, I've gotten myself into."
You blinked. This was really the last thing you expected to happen running into him. "I don't-" You hated yourself for being curious, but you couldn't. "I can't help you, Kim Taehyung."
Taehyung grinned. In other circumstances, this smile might've melted your heart in a second, but seeing him walk slowly towards you made your chest jump with slight fear.
"Oh yes, you can." He tilted his head ever so slightly. "And you will."
His voice guys. That's the statement.
